Cant train heros or use armies?

I have built a hall of war and a barracks, but I cant train any heros, the option doesnt even show up, so I cant use any of the men I have trained. Am I dumb or is this just some sort of bug?

Do you have armaments? If not, you need to set up an iron mine and a blacksmith to get them. You can only create a squad/ army of troops (I think that's what they're called) once you have the same amount of armaments stored in the barracks as the amount of people you'll train. I think the default number of soldiers in an army is 17, so you'll need 17 people (obviously) and 17 pieces of armament from a blacksmith. You'll also need gold, now that I think about it. If you can train them but can't move them, select them with left click and you can select where you want them to move (or attack an enemy that your cursor is hovering over that your selected army can reach) with right click .


TL;DR just place an iron mine and blacksmith to get armaments. You need 17 people, armaments, and some gold to train an army. Select squads with left click and move/ attack with right click.

Also if your problem still occurs, it might be a bug.

Heros were deleted on a past update. You can build swordsmen squads in a barracks or archer squad in an archer school. You need War College first and available armaments.
