It's more of a relaxing village building, soo it might be boring for you but I suggest you watch some playthroughs in Youtube

The first time i saw this game on youtube 3 years ago i begged my parents to get it and a year or should i say 4 months later they got me the game. And i was so ready to play it and now here i am 2 years later, and i have created over 1 thousand islands and one of my best islands i have ever really liked was united states of merica. And it was in survival mode and i had a awesome kingdom covering all the land and in the middle there was a super super tall tower and it took 1000 stone or more and i have not touched that island in two years well when it becomes 2020 then it will be two years.

I really enjoy it. Sure it's not an action-packed 4x city game, but it has lots of opportunities to be creative and a decent challenge to how you layout the castle and protect from invaders. It's cheap, go for it.

I mean if the low cost of this game is a point of debate for you I would reccomend getting Cities: Skylines on sale right now. Bout the same price but that game is a little more in depth. That said this game is not bad, its just still in development and not made by a large studio.

It's fun and relaxing, but don't expect a ton of replay value. Once you get the hang of the patch, every game really plays the same. Granted, the game seems to get a major update every 6 months. We should be due for a new one sometime next winter/spring.

Depends how much you like repetition and sandbox city building. Some people just like laying out new cities over and over and can be happy doing that for years with a game that has little to no lose conditions and no built in goals. This does have regularly timed attacks you have to defend against but they do become relatively easy once all your defenses are in place. There isn't a whole lot of building variety and complexity compared to some city builders and I thought it a bit lacking for worker management options during times my population didn't quite keep up enough to constantly man defenses and all resources. It's also not as expensive as some city builders and did get new buildings and production lines a few months back. It is still one of the least played city builders we have though. Well below the hours we've both put into games like banished and cities skyline. Does beat out feudal village but that's not saying much.

JustJearvin your right this game is boring and here's why

1. no steam workshop or modding support at all.
2. no new buildings being added
3. Map size is still way too small

Just don't even bother buying this game because as usual the devs continue to ignore people's comments about the game. I haven't played this game in about say 1 year or since It came out. I refuse to play a game when the devs don't want to listen to comments on the game. I probably will uninstall this garbage ASAP.

I'm sorry but that is all completely wrong!

1. The devs do listen to players comments. They aren't very active on the steam discussions but in their Discord they talk to players everyday! Ive even talked to the devs myself and they are very friendly and helpful and ive seen them help out others with bugs or problems! I even think the most recent update was a suggestion from players.

2. There is modding support. In the K&C Discord, there is modding section and it has been growing a lot lately. Me and another player have even made a modding guide! Yes, there is no steam workshop but it has been in testing now for about a month and should be public very soon.

3. If you had played the game recently you'd know there are new buildings. The games most recent update added a fishing hut, fishmonger, a small market, a butchers and a pigs pen. Then hopefully in the next couple months the A.I Kingdoms update will release which will let players combat against other kingdoms.

4. I wouldn't say the maps are that small. In the time i've played i've never run out of space or even close too. If you do feel like it is too small then you can download the Horizon mod! https://www.moddb.com/games/kingdoms-and-castles/downloads/horizon1 . There's some proof that there are mods!

Perhaps before trashing on the game you should put some research in and play it rather than assuming no progress has been made in a year! You would also then know that the game is only made by TWO people which is why progress is slow.

By reading the description of the mod.

It doesn't really need more than it has. What's there is charming as hell, and you'll get your money's worth just getting the achievement of 'Population 5k'. It's a light experience but a very good one, which to be fair is reflected in the price.

I still think that this game is terrible no support from the devs If you have problems. You might like this game but to me these devs have no respect they only post something whenever they feel they need to like really how about keeping everyone updated on what's going on with the game. These Devs have completely lost my support.

So you "think". This tells me you dont play this game much,You dont use discord to talk to the Devs and you are bashing like a troll with no proof to show your false accusation...:2017meatball:

I go on discord but these devs haven't listened to one thing on improving this game like more food Items besides fish. What about adding like sheep for their wool to keep your people warm, cows for milk, Really these Devs are just lazy and refuse to listen Just like you.
