Now Granaries typically need to be closer to the farms so that when harvest comes the farmers can run to the granery and back and then back once more to get the food in. So whilst Graneries give a little bonus to food range, its not much further than the edge of your farmland.
So you can first build a market, these have people who head out to get food from a granery and that food is then distributed from the market. Markets don't hold huge amounts of food so if you've a large settlement of houses far from the food production you'll need several markets.
Another aid is to have excess, so build some bakeries near to your granneries so that you can over-produce. This means when market staff come to the graneries, there is food in there. So each trip yields a delivery.
