Viking Raid Results Messed Up? Also Suggestion within.
Two things.

1) Why are my people traumatized when the vikings don't get within the 7 high walls of my fortress with it's 30 some archer towers that pincushion every barb to death.

2) With the above, why does my kingdom considered to have failed the defense? I only lost four bridge pieces and two wall pieces. I killed every barb, all three ogres and no boats surived. How on earth is that a failed defense? I think they might've lit some of my industry on fire outside the wall, but that should hardly be considered failure. Failure should require people being kidnapped and resources being stolen. EG: Vikings don't all die.

Sup with all that? My people have a gynormous fortress of awesomeness to hide within and yet they don't think they succeeded.

Oh and there's a suggestion. Can we possibly get a button to mass activate all defense buildings? It's not feasible to leave all the archer towers manned at all times and the minutes it's starting to take to click on that many archer towers and reactivate them is becoming very tedious.

If they land at all you get the hit to happiness, late game they have a habit of landing and then immediately getting back in the boat (e.g. screw this)

That's enough to trigger the hit. Happiness needs an overhaul in general it's a frustrating mechanic.

This is the only happiness problem I've ever had. My kingdom is sitting at 450 and I generally have 90+ happiness at all times unless the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mongoloids let one of their houses burn down with a well literally across the street.

A plague you couldn't do anything to stop? -a chunk of happiness and then an additional hit if anyone dies.

Unavoidable vikings that set foot for 1 second on your land? -a chunk of happiness

Set taxes to 3g so you can pay off your large number of town defenses? -A hit to happiness so high that you'll never see new villagers again.

I just feel like the negatives to happiness need to be toned down a bit, the positives to happiness seem pretty well balanced.

Hmm. Two hospitals for 450 people has meant I've never lost more than a dozen people to even 100+ plagues.

The vikings are dumb. This is the only one I agree with on you.

I've never had to set taxes above 2g so I wouldn't know about that. I've had 1500~2000g at all times since I passed 300 pop.

Oh I was talking about the 15 happiness hit when a plague appears at all.

3g is mandatory once you hit really high pop above 800 or so, my best town is sitting at 1100 at the moment and if I turn gold down to 2 I take a 170 gold hit every month.

Huh. Well I did fix the viking problem. Glitched an invasion somehow now it'll never leave so a second one will never come I think.

^ This happens if you wall off your entire city with piers, walls, and ballistas while leaving one tiny opening, kind of an entertaining bug.

But yeah when that invasion glitch happens you won't get anymore unless they somehow leave.

Yeah, it's super silly. I'm not sure it happens on their initial landing, usually I get the penalty about half way through the battle but still without any real damage done. At first I thought they somehow grabbed a random peasant that ran outside but noooo....

IMO activating/deactivating defenses feels kinda cheesy (especially with towers able to attack before the crew actually arrives) but a "everybody get inside the walls" command would make a lot of sense.

My population is around 3,000. I have 5 treasuries, because I kept building new ones to store the large amounts of gold I had. But I only spend about 1,000 gold per year and I raise way more than that.

Also, the higher your population, the more your happiness will take a hit afterwards (more people are sad about the recent deaths, etc). Having more hospitals will amaze you in getting that under control :)
