So much food, but still starving?
Hello!
I have a massive amount of food surplus with markets everywhere.
What is the best way to destribute it as my population keeps starving at random :(.

Have you built markets next to your homes? The market workers will run to the granaries to get food and bring it back to the market.

Your people will still starve unless you have a well placed market to get the food to them.

Show us a pick of your markets

I put them like this and rarely got notifications that someone is starving

Note that the left market came way later, the one to the right was enough for a long time due to their 10 workers

I am having problem, worse yet, some houses that are right next to one of the markets are starving despite the market in question being fully stocked with food.

Hmmm hard to say. I didnt know that you went for a large city and are already at 1k, my city above was meant to be a small and nice looking one. Also trying to get a large city in the newest game

Go check the Granarys, my guess would be that most of the 2k food are in a certain area around your biggest farms and the distributions isnt working fast enough

Also 1k people is already eating nearly 1.7k food each year (my 500 eat 800) which means that 2k food stored isnt too much - especially if most of it is located in a certain area as said above

I've started to notice this in Manors especially. Right across the street from a fully stocked market. As far as I can tell, if a head of household dies, they don't get replaced, so no more food. SOMETIMES a reload fixes this. Deleting/Rebuilding the manor will work too. Still comes back eventually. Probably a bug.

I'm doing very well with just two markets and two bakers, noone starves. Maybe pathfinding or not enough idle citizens as a buffer? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1089034614

I have a population of over 2000 and people dying from starvation is rampant, I have plenty of markets and food. I have a feeling the head of household bug is real, because my original manors do suffer form the most starving.

One thing is, his city is already spread out across the map but your still small and centered

Another thing that i have encountered is that building a lot of stuff obviously makes them work longer, which then makes it take longer until they eat again (as well as longer ways to the food, as i mentioned the larger city above)

Had a large viking attack with many burning buildings, got the starving icons on about 20 people whilst they stopped the fire

Update on this:

I noticed that this behaviour disappeared right after reloading my saved game. I also noticed that it slowly started to come back the more i was playing without reloading.

My guess is that if you have a big city, you have to reload your saved game every so often.

Heads of household should be replaced when one dies, but we'll test that case again internally to make sure. If you have a save game where this is possibly happening, send it to contact@lionshieldstudios.com and we can use it to test. Saves are in C:\users\yourname\appdata\locallow\lionshield

We'll also be adding some new UI soon that'll give more info on what the heads of households are doing. That should give better clarity into food issues.
