I got to where the boat and tractor are which I have to cross the lake to get to the mines but everytime I go anywhere from there the monster keeps coming

... and the game at that point won't let me 'crouch' and yet I could before

In case you got to that boat-tractor-place from where the monster appears the first time, do not go back, instead hold yourself to the very right behind the house at the boat lake.

If monster spawns keep running into that direction until you pass the big "fiery" thing on the left. Search for the nearby path in the same direction and as soon as you see a small way branching out to the right. Run to the very end of it.

In case you run out of running-breathe too early, release running key for 2-4 seconds, run again.

i am in the same situation he just comes and kills you as soon as you go up the paths either side from the boathouse. ran towards the big fiery thing but you cant explore it as he keeps chasing you and then got all the way to a broken bridge then he kills you, you get caught no matter what whether you have the lanter on, off or are croched there is no stealthing pst him

ive refunded brken ai and it still keeps crashing even in experimental its a shame though the concept had potential

You don't even need to run if you stay to the right edge at all times. Switch your torch OFF, collect the plank on the way, which allows you to cross the gap to the mines. The monster will not see you.

I managed to get around it by.... when your close to the temple run like hell... one way takes you back to the mines and you can escape.. the other takes you to a small shed and you can escape again.. also.. i found jumping in the water at the cowshed got rid of the monster as well..
