To be honest, I can't believe this game was free. The art was superb, the storyline was engaging, and the our leading lady was such an interesting character that seeing her grow and develop was a journey itself. But the storyline is what really got me. Playing it in the suggested order lead to a lot of amazing discoveries about not only the leading character and her love interests, but also the side characters. I was in tears in Fritz's route when certain secrets came out and people died. That one was really hard to get through (the bad and the good).
Yes Fritz has the most emtional one because my ship died there. Its already hard enough to look at Varg or Fritz without screaming.
Dicesuki should make another one.
And I was crying in both the locked routes, and I'm not much for crying, although I guess I can be a romantic. Pretty much every route really messed with me emotionally. The highs and lows were a great balance.
I followed the suggested order. I did use the skip function so I didn't have to go through dialogue I'd already seen (good memory), so that cut down on playing time substantially. But 13 hours over a few days still felt like a lot. Plus when I wasn't playing the game, I was still caught up in it.
After I finished the game I listened to the theme song for days. It's so good.
I have to agree that the production quality of this game is incredible! Beyond many commercial grade VNs. I'm happy that pretty much everyone can play Cinderella Phenomenon.
I played Karma (because from the 3 available ones, he was my favorite (Waltz and Fritz are my favs), Rod and then Rumple (I can't stand Rumple, even after playing him - sorry).
Karma's bad ending broke my heart really bad because it was clear for me from the start it was him (maybe because is one of my favorite tales and characters from this game), Rod's route brought me to tears several times, but not because of him, but because of Emelaigne. I really felt bad for her. His good ending felt like a bad ending for me, and his bad ending did made sense (I'll go into that after I go through I'll the routes, hang in there, folks). Rumple's route was a pain for me. Rumple is not someone who can touch my heart, but I did relate a lot to his ex and that did break me. Neither ending made me feel nothing except happy I got his achievements.
After looking the order up, I went with Fritz.
I cried a lot with Fritz. With his good ending, because it is NOT so good to that side of him, with his bad ending as well, I just cried like a lot. I do like Fritz a lot.
Then, I went with Waltz already knowing I wasn't ready, but hoping it wouldn't break my heart as much as Fritz, happens it did, specially because we get to see a little bit more of Fritz here and there.
Waltz was my favorite even from the scs of the game I've seem before playing so it hurt as f*ck all the way. Also, he is pretty intense himself in his own way. Waltz good ending got me smiling with tears to my eyes, his bad ending... Man, I wasn't ready to that, I swear I hug my cat and kept crying for sometime.
So, now, about rod's bad ending:
Rod says that even if he could bring himself to kill the girl it wouldn't end his course since he began liking the princess for sometime now, am I right? So, that got me thinking.
If he liked the princess enough to the point that killing the girl wouldn't end the curse, than her marriage shouldn't kill him as well.
My point is:
The marriage of the person he loves should be the day he dies, since he has to kill the person he loves, no?
Well, never mind that, it just got me thinking. But I did enjoy the game an awful lot :)
Same gurl same. I can't even force myself to open up the game and do the bad endings.
i was fully aware of all the good and bad ending even before I started playing so I know that Vard/Fritz dies because we may or may not have to kill him, also Karna, also Rumple dies too and then Rod vanishes and for Waltz, well, the queen ♥♥♥♥♥ wons the round
I know your pain about HP and Divergent too...
I went 24 hours in total for 2 days for this and Im still in recovery. And yes, skipping function is always a good way when youre too lazy to read.
The ending was quite suprising right?
That is a good idea, I wish I had it D:
