do yall find the mc annoying
i think the main reason i havent played this game much is because i want to rko her off a building shes so unlikable,, im not even far into the game but ughh shes like :( Im So Sad Time To Be Rude To Everyone like OK SIS theres better ways of handling this. thoughts?? opinions?? i want to not feel alone.

EDIT: ive played far into the game and have gotten karmas good and bad endings. idk, i still find her to be really annoying. there was some growth but it wasnt enough for me to like the character :/

EDIT AS OF 8/3/2020: i still want to deck her in the teeth. idk, ive seen this done better before and i dont think at the end her change warrants a relationship. she has good chemistry with some of the characters but i find her to still be rather unlikable after a few routes.

I'll be honest, within the first minute of starting the game for the first time, I turned to my wife and was just like..... holy crap, the MC is a witch! Once the story really got going, though, it was easier to understand exactly why she was the way she was, and she slowly grew on me. I'd say give the game another try, get a little further into the story, and she might grow on you too!

I agree she really is an unlikeable character but I think it gives her a certain charm. I'm tiered of girls in stories quickly falling in love and other tropes. I find it charming that she doesn't believe in love. It also makes her character development more interesting.

I assure you, OP, nearly everyone found Lucette to be terrible. :uritona:

Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that there was at least a month long timeskip between when she was cursed to when a route is able to start, the idea of Lucette actually putting her big girl pants on long enough to partner up with someone would be inconceivable to me, much less fall in love lksjglk

I personally feel that she becomes more endearing during routes, since the whole point of her curse is to become a better person. I personally like how she usually comes to the point in a route where she wants to help out and puts her all into something she believes in once she puts her mind to it. At least when it's for a good cause, not... being absolutely terrible to her step-family klfgjskgj

She is initially intolerable. That's part of the point and why she was cursed. As you play through, you begin to learn and understand how she came to be that way, and she has an amazing character development arc.

It looks like I have a different opinion than most here. I immediately found common ground with the MC. I was actually a little offended, tbh, when it felt like the mere act of being unfriendly was worthy of being cursed. During the prologue, when she was explaining most of her actions, my thoughts were generally, "Yeah, I get it. She's rude but nobody is entitled to be in my good graces."

I actually really, *REALLY* don't like Parfait and Delora in this moment. There needs to be a lot of justification needed (to me, anyway) for me to approve of what they did to this adolescent girl.

I actually do like the MC especially because she is a little bit on the cold side. I think that there are some annoying moments when she is unable to show some empathy but that changes over the routes so it doesn't really bother me. And to be honest the other characters often overreact, I mean she gets cursed because she is the 'ice princess' with trust issues. The more routes you play the more you find out about her past and it explains pretty much why the MC acts like she does.

Oh yeah, I can definitely agree about Parfait and Delora.

Like, Yeah, I get that they have good intentions in mind for the common good. But I can definitely sympathize how upset Lucette must've felt since who the heck are they to mess with her life just because she doesn't want to play nice. Plus, after learning about them more, it can feel like it was moreso for their own motivations (even if it's for the good of the people) rather than genuine concern over Lucette's wellbeing in some routes.

I just think that Lucette just needed to be prescribed with some chill pills because Damn, no sad backstory should excuse anyone for being a prick to everyone in a 10 mile radius but why does the first solution you guys think of has to be putting a CURSE on her?? And then expect her to 100% trust the people responsible for CURSING her??

I never found her terrible. Not even at the start. Maybe because I dont judge too quickly just by looking at the cover or because I find it pretty common that people her rank are like this. The moment the game started (I played Rods route first) you already find out so many things about her that its pretty clear why she is that way.. playing Walz and Rods route I really cried a lot because of how much she suffered her whole childhood..

She has been hated and was judged for her mothers actions by everyone for doing nothing wrong since she was a small child. Most of her memories have been taken away, she never left the palace and was taught her whole life that everyone except for her mother will never love her, accept her, be honest with her or whatsoever. She tried to get her fathers attention uncountable times who had to push her away and now that her mother, the only person ever claimed to love her, is gone, her fathers love is stolen again by some.. strangers.

So no, I have a lot of love for this girl <3

I'd say, the MC is pretty likable, reasonable and resolute, but, unfortunately, she also expects others to be the same and occasionally voices her disappointment. Though, the lack of social skills is problematic for a monarch. As the lack of any other anyhow useful skills, but she learns how to wield a sword by the end and successfully cuts down a romantic interest, so it is good enough character development for me.

I actually like the main character a lot. In many fairy tales / fantasy-themed visual novels that involve romance, most of the main character females are innocent and pure and would never harm a fly. That often leads to the same old boring love story ending. Lucette is different, and I appreciate the fact that this fantasy novel isn't so similar to others of its kind. Plus, her backstory backs up all of the emotions she has and the way she acts, so it's not like she's a spoiled rich brat for no apparent reason at all.

love the protag in this is better than like 99% of other female protags in otome games where they just go "uwah" and blush at literally anything a romantic interest does. apart of the appeal to me is seeing her actually develop out of that toxic mind sight? i literally can't think of another protagonist in a otome game that has that level of development.

we have so many shy girls protagonist who are a blank slate for the reader to project on or are so infuriatingly submissive that they are literally a walking doormat (yes im looking at that girl from diabolik lovers)

i am so sick to death of "pure" protags, lucette is a ♥♥♥♥♥ and i love her for it. especially knowing that a good part of the story is her growing as a person/character.

I think it justified to curse the MC though, she is crown princess and to become queen with that attitude probably cause her subject a lot of problem. The curse just teach her a lesson.

Frankly, I would consider MC actions is logical, and worst cynical. She has never abused her power, the worst thing she has done is being unfriendly. If that deserved being cursed then the whole kingdom should be killed for murdering all the witches. Parfait and Delora manipulating her without telling her the full story and let her deciding. I really wish there is a path to punish all these people that killed witches for no reasons, cause all they got was "Fairy tales curses" seem pretty harmless to me.

I agree. Honestly, I think she's the best main I've seen in any otome style VN, and there are good reasons for her being the way she is. The fact she isn't *insane* is pretty incredible:

1. Raised by Witch Hitler in almost total isolation from other people.
2. Her father doesn't care enough about her to stop her mother from doing this to her.
3. Is trained to suppress all expression of herself and slavishly obey her mother.
4. Is treated like an extension of her mother by everyone around her, not like a real person.
4. Grew up in the middle of a witch genocide and probably knew her mother was a witch (the only person who cared about her).
5. Had her memories of her mother, the only person to raise her and care for her (albeit abusively), erased and then...left in near total isolation (whose bright idea was that?).

This is not something you are going to "recover" from, it's the kind of thing that alters your personality and people just need to get that. IMO in some of the routes, the people are just a-holes to her without empathy, failing to grasp why she's thinking and feeling the way she is. They just want her to conform to their norm without any compassion or grace extended to her for her upbringing.

I'm surprised they picked Cinderella and didn't go with the Snow Queen or Sleeping Beauty, because greed and selfishness aren't the real problem here, social isolation and abuse are. The story is like taking a lab animal and dumping it out in the world; it's not going to know how to survive and thrive outside of that cage since it wasn't raised in the wild.

^ Delora is really arrogant and a jerk in many of the lines. I did Karma's route first and have hated her ever since.
