After a little digging around...
This seems to just contain Unity analytics, so is of no use to us.
I suspect this is the file we need to delete / backup respectively!
It's the one listed for Steam cloud sync in the game's "remotecache.vdf" file under Steam's "userdata".
Haven't tested it myself yet, but hopefully that helps someone out. It's much nicer when a game provides a simple "erase game" option (with confirmation of course!), and preferably multiple save slots.

OK, just tested it, and it works. Obviously, disable Cloud Sync for the game in Steam before deleting the "gamedata" file, else it'll come straight back when you launch the game.

And just for completeness... the game options (resolution/fullscreen, at least) seem to be in the Windows Registry...
Thank you yorky i have done the whole thing but the preocess was wrong so the only thing tha's left is to see if the false lvl 40 cap error is gone.
