So where's the kids parents in all this?

I can understand them not being there at night, but on Xmas day, they're not present at all. it gives off a weird feeling of isolation and I'm wondering where they are the whole time. (also, on the vhs, i just barley caught the glimpse of a persons legs, does that have to do with this at all?)

At the end the kid wake up early in the morning to open his present as soon as possible,thats why there is no one there

this is comfirmed when you get the good ending, to finish the game you need to wake up his mother

Also,the tattletail vhs is probably the tv commercial where the mother started to kill the staff who made the commercial. Thats why probably they stopped to sell her

if in night 4 you knock your parents bedroom door and mama is near the player, the door will open and mama will be inside your parents room, just to jumpscare and kill you

The mother tattletail is probably depicting the kid's parents. The devs were obviously too lazy to make human models.

Good question, but if I had to guess I'd say that mama tattletail murdered the parents on xmas. One thing I don't get is how on the other nights his parents can't hear all the noise if there alive, I'm sure a mix of screaming tattletail and mama's storytime would wake them up.

The good ending proves the parents weren't murdered. The mom maybe had a night job at waygetter.

On the Waygetter website it says it's a family owned business. My guess is that the parents are the company owners. Maybe one or both were killed at the factory or they just always work late.
