The future of Tattletail
To the fandom, have fun with the game, but not too much fun. We all know how much people just "love" having thousands upon thousands of poorly made YouTube videos in their recommended section.

To the developer, LittleFlag, please take your time with any future games you make, Tattletail is a very unique game despite using some old features, like a generic Unreal Engine map (albiet decorated well) and diet-scares (jumpscares).
The atmosphere of this game is fantastic, and I hope that you continue to capture such things in any future sequel or game you make. Don't take this is an insult, but you'll be glad if this game doesn't turn into another Five Nights at Freddy's, which is a good franchise, but is definitely loathed by most people now.

Anyways, whatever you do, I wish you the best of luck with it.

EDIT: I understand that this is a controversial post but I didn't think it would get this many knickers in a twist.

EDIT 2: Rephrased the first part of the post to explain my thoughts in a less provocative way.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like a sequel, I'm just saying that the Dev shouldn't be forced into making them.
How can a dev get forced into making them? No on is pointing a gun at the guy forcing him to do it. It's always the devs choices. Smh
Uh-huh, have fun with that.

What you ask is impossible. People will do what they want because they can. Nothing you can do about it. Remember you dont need to be in a community you dont like to enjoy a game. Just stay away from things you dont like and you will be fine :)
I don't like Undertale but the game's content was next to impossible to avoid. You go on YouTube and your recommended section is flooded with poorly made Undertale SFMs, you go on to DeviantArt and it showcases nothing but Undertale artwork drawn by ten year olds. Undertale is indeed a fantastic game, but I didn't like it, and the fandom just made it seem even worse to get involved with. Trust me, what I ask is very possible.

if its unwanted content ( and people do want a sequal) just dont play it
A good point, not sure why you commented that here, but a good point none-the-less.
If you say its possible then tell me. How do you make fandoms not appear? Its impossible. If someone has that kind of hability they could use to stop fans of racist wars ir something like that. And nobody can. You cant change the world. You can only choose what you see and what you dont.

I'd like to see a sequel, but why would you think that people aren't allowed to share their passion for something online with other like-minded individuals. Fanbases will always have a dark side (obsessive discussions, r34, etc.) and it's been that way for decades.

I can understand pornography of Five Nights at Freddy's, but Tattle tail would be really stretching it.

Its too late.

A sequel would be good if they took like, a year or two to make it a fully fledged full length game, rather than a short game like FNAF.

Keep in mind, I have nothing against FNAF, I am actually a really big fan of the series, I just feel like this could become a much more full fledged game series than Five Nights at Freddy's, due to it being built in a 3D engine, and having more story based gameplay (FNaF has a story, but it's gameplay is mostly just surviving the night, except for Sister Location which was different).

You're too late, the child has already vented steam and moved on.

OP has proven that his cancer levels are on par with the FNAF and MLP fanbase combined.

Do yourself a favor, ignore his attention seeking and move on.

i'm seeing a lot of good points in this thread... but let's be civil.

i understand the disappointment of seeing a fandom for a game you like turn toxic. it sucks. hopefully that never happens with tattletail, but if something gets really popular the fandom can gain a life of its own.

we can control what we make, though. we want to make games that our fans will love. games take a lot of time and effort to make, so you can bet we wouldn't put out something that we don't love ourselves.

Leave it to the developer to be the only smart person in this discussion.

None of these things you've described are likely. It was half-made by somebody at Arcane Kids, and those devs know better than anyone else how not to run a joke dry.
