Freetime Events gameplay style

So in the main games, how did you guys go about playing the freetime events? Did you try to finish a person's 5 events before moving on, or chose to talk to more people instead of focusing on just one? Do some of the characters die before you could finish him/her (oh the despairrrrr)? How many characters freetimes did you manage to complete before postgame?

With Kaede, I got to know Korekiyo, Ryoma and Kirumi cause I suspected they wouldn't last long. After Kaede died and we moved onto Shuichi, I got so upset over the lost of progress with the above 3 that I chose completely new people. Tenko was next on my list and I completed her in one chapter cause I wanted to completely finish at least one person, and after that I diversified more. I finished Gonta and Maki as well, and managed to get started with Angie, Miu, Keebo and Tsumugi before finishing everyone else in postgame.

I'd love to find out how other people play their freetimes though. How'd you do it?

With Kaede I hung out with Shuichi a good bit, after that you know.. I picked up Keebo and Maki

I simply talked to people as much as I could, without maxing out their free time events. I only went up to three events maximum in the main story of V3.

The only exception is DR2, where I maxed out Mikan's free time events (which in hindsight wasn't the best idea).

I basically pick a person a finish them off, before moving on.

I did one each with Kiyo and Maki at the start.

I'll put the rest in spoilers because I don't want to give hints about who lasts, and how long.

I finished Kiyo first. Couldn't do Maki, so I did Himiko instead. I may have stopped Himiko when I could start Maki, and went back to Himiko later. Finished Maki when it was possible. I think the Survivor count was quite low then, so I picked Tsumugi over Keebo to finish.

I liked everyone. But I had to speak to Kiyo first. Please don't judge me. :)

I generally tried to finish one person every Chapter. However, whenever someone died. After the trial, I went back and did all of their free-time events, as well. Then I actually finished off the last few people before the Chapter 5 trial (because I was confident that there would be no more free-time events).

I just spent a lot of time with Miu and Kirumi then te latter one died....
In the end I was able to max out Miu in game, which was pretty awesome.
