So, how's the characters?

maki, kirumi and tsumugi as waifus and that makes three, because i can't make a decision. haven't chosen a husbando and kokichi looks like he's about twelve so he's out of the question, he was annoying at first. keebo and gonta as top candidates~

no one i hate but miu makes me uncomfortable!

NO, THAT'S WRONG! Kodaka clarified later that that was a misunderstanding and he didn't design her to be hated, and in fact liked her humor, he just didn't expect her to be popular with fans.

V3 was the first game I couldn't bring myself to hate anyone from the cast. I hated half the characters in DR1 and 2 and was completely unmoved by the other half.
I do understand some of the characters in V3 are horrible people and I quite dislike some of the character archetypes that are present in this game but overall everyone's really good. I think what's interesting about the characters this time is that they all have a very well-defined flaw that's basically a core of their personality. I love characters who aren't afraid to have flaws, or more like, I love it when writers make their characters flawed on purpose.
I quite dislike Maki, mostly thanks to the direction that was taken with her writing. I've checked localization out and they've definitely tamed down some of the stuff she does. What I dislike the most about her is that the game's narrative tries to make me feel sympathetic for her. That and her relationship with Kaito is really forced and is basically just a thinly-veiled plot device on how to make Maki seem more "human". I'm old and jaded so this stuff doesn't work on me.
Ouma is my absolute favourite. I really wanted Danganronpa to have this type of character and I wasn't disappointed. Everything about him, down to his ruthless banter, untangible ball of lies and that FTE where he RPs as Seto Kaiba is extremely amusing to me.

there's only one character i hate, and that's himiko. her lazy personality is incredibly annoying and her design is even worse. not one good thing i can say about her so far

I see myself relating to Himiko a lot though I can understand why people are annoyed with her being lazy to do things. And her thinking she's really a mage than a magician is just something innocent. After chapter 3, she has shown a nice side to herself. She's a very relatable character for me and she has become one of my favorites.

I tend to prefer the more over the top and crazy characters in the series, I like the insanity of it all.
Even tho I said that I agreed with the other guy I'd not go as far as to say that I '' hate her '', I am just indifferent to her :P.

Yeah, I understand that everyone has a favorite type of character in this game. It's like me with Miu, how I'm indifferent towards her because I don't usually follow? or really adore the type of character that she is. I would go to say that I like her the least but I don't hate her. I would also say that I tend to like characters like Kokichi most of the time throughout these games.
