How is the PC version?
I'm trying to decide between the Vita and PC version, how is Danganronpa v3 on the PC?

Works fine for me no problems yet, but I have no point of referance for the other versions of the game. (using a gamepad as well seeing that this is a console port)

I think danganronpa- and visual novels in general- are better suited to handhelds. If I had the choice, I'd have gotten it on vita, but then I'd have to wait until it released in eu, heh

That said, check out reviews of the vita version to make sure it runs OK first. It doesn't seem especially well optimised on PC. If you get PC, it works better with a controller- sometimes it has trouble registering keypresses to advance text, which is annoying as heck in a long visual novel

Given the games you have in your Steam Library being run for 10+ hours, you should have no issues running V3 on PC. I'm on Intel HD and it's mostly 60fps (with a few segments dropping to 50fps).

Also, so far no noticable bugs. Some people say they can't press F1 to open the pause menu, but that's because the game doesn't introduce said menu until later. Either that or their keyboards have dysfunctional F1 keys. Because mine works fine.

I've had no problems.
The demo had the "resolution" setting greyed out and we hope that the real game supports a resolution a bit better for an actual monitor that is not a handheld

Set the game to fullscreen and it lets you choose the resolution. I learned this because I instinctually set games to fullscreen when I want to run them better.

The resolution option is only locked if you're playing in Borderless mode, in which case it scales to your desktop resolution. Choosing Windowed or Fullscreen allows for you to choose the resolution, and even on a 1440p monitor I was allowed to select 4K as a fullscreen resolution.

I haven't really had any issues on my gaming rig with a gamepad, but a 6700k and a GTX 1080 is a bit overkill for a PS4 port that's largely an upscaled Vita port in the first place. I did have some framerate issues in the 'open' areas when I first started, but after the second launch it's been a smooth 60FPS. Testing how well it's optimized for a lower-spec laptop would require me to reinstall Windows on it, which I'm not really inclined to do.

I've run it at mostly 60fps on my Intel HD laptop. My CPU is an i7-4500U and I have 8GB RAM, since Intel HD is shared memory between CPU and RAM. There's a few drops to 45-50fps on dialogue segments with 3 people, but everything else runs fine. And hell, everything ran perfectly fine on fullscreen 1024x768 res.

I've had no issue, since I have a gaming P.C now.

It's a handheld game. Also read through these forums and see how many people have issues. Don't listen to anyone claiming they don't have issues because chances are they are not entirely truthful.

So far my only complaint is that some of the keys are wrongly binded.
But that can easily be fixed in the config.txt file.

Honestly? It's a buggy mess. It's not just tied to having a bad computer: there are several bugs that happen because of basic programming errors. The game wants you to press the A and S keys in a quicktime event early on, but the buttons are reversed. As in, the game shows you a giant S on screen, and it actually wants you to press A instead, and vice versa. Now, this could easily be fixed by just reconfiguring your keys in console, but really?

The game launches with bugs where your bottun or mouse inputs oftentimes completely don't work, as in having to click the mouse over 6 times at points before the game advances dialouge. The game launches with bugs where the A and S key are reversed at specific points. The game launches with bugs where a bottun input it registered twice, making you skip over the truth bullet you want. The game launches with bugs where if you have two graphic cards on your computer, the game will not default to the card that actually works and you will have to choose the right card manually via your steam folder, or the game won't even start. The game has launched with an incomplete, messy, buggy version.

Yes, I could manually change all these things myself or work around them, but when I buy a game for 60$, I do half-expect the game to actually work on its own or that the steam version was at least beta-tested before it was released. It's not just me or my computer, go under the *techincal* discussions and look how many people have these same issues. It's clearly a zero-effort port where they couldn't even manage to see if their key-bindings worked properly before they released it.

Playing on a PC with a 4770k, 1060 6GB, and 16GB RAM while using an Xbox One Controller, the game seems to control and play fine for the most part. The biggest issue I'm having is a bunch of microstutter when walking in the halls. Steam and other overlays claim the game is running at 60FPS consistently, but it's like things just look choppy while walking around.

pretty much this, same microstutter here.

the controls for keyboard and mouse are outright lies at times and walking around outside can lag a lot in places, because crytek is ♥♥♥♥ and totally unnecessary for a visual novel :P
