There you can go to the settings and save.
Edit: Not sure was it called. :s Monokumafile?..... something mono... i think :D
Oh, to make it clear, the stuff that starts right after selecting start a new game is the prologue.
The prologue took me about 90 mins, but it does have a save point before the receiving of the monopad which happens later in the prologue, if i remember correctly.
Ah yeah, I have finished the prologue, my save file lists “prologue end” or something like that (I don’t have my computer on hand so i’m not totally certain)
Yeah! I have gotten the monopad, I believe the farthest I’ve gotten in ch1 is a bit past the manhole part. It’s just, even having it, I haven’t been able to open it up, the only time it’s opened for me was during the little scene where the rules of the killing game are explained
I would recommend trying tilda, f2, f3, and a lot others until you find the correct key, xD.
Sorry if I'm starting too early for you if you know some of these steps.
Go to the folder in steam that holds the game.
It's easy to find if you go to library.
Right click on the game name in the list on the right of the Library page.
Select Properties.
Go to local Files Tab.
Click the top button called Browse Local Files
In this folder will be the config.txt file. It should open with notepad.
Make sure you save a copy of the config.txt before you make changes. That way, if something wrong happens, you can just replace the original text to get back to normal.
All you have to do is find the pad_square = f1 entry.
Change f1 to something else like f4 maybe. If you change it to something else make sure to follow the format of the keys for other keys ie. key_z
Close the notepad file. It will ask if you want to save your changes. and you want to press yes.
I haven't specifically changed the controls for this game, but that's how it works for other games when you want to change the config file. You just need to make sure you keep the same formatting and instructions as are display in other parts of the file, or else it won't work.
Edit Added
IF you ever make a mistake or change something you don't want to, you can use the backup copy to copy and paste the correct lines back into the original. Or you can delete the original file and rename the copy file the same as the original file to completely replace the file.
Finally, if you don't have a back up, I beleive you can just delete the config.txt file, and then get Steam to assess the integrity of the game folder. It should notice that the config.txt file is missing and put a new one in.
Added in Edit
I noticed someone else mentioning how to config the controls, and apparently you can make it so a second button can do the same function. So you can put ",key_z". as in, put a comma after the f1, then immediately type the second input you want with no space between the comma and the next input.
