The main reason I can think of as to why you wouldn't like Kaede is because of how her blind optimism lead her to her death. If she was more logical in her thought process and tried to handle the situation with Shuuichi, instead of burdening the motivation to kill the mastermind herself, she wouldn't have died...
Idk about all those "waifu" things, but to me, she's obviously fake. The way she speak, the way she act... I don't think she's honest with her friends. Moreover, it doesn't seem to me that she's honest with herself. I don't know where this feeling came from, but I couldn't get rid of it. I don't believe her at all.
No offence please, it's just how I feel about her. I know many people like her, but as for me, at first I didn't want to play V3 because of her. Only after my friend told me that she's not a real protagonist, I bought the game.
( I am too lazy to spoiler mark this crap, but there's spoilers from here on because Kaede is the protagonist, and it makes sense for there to be spoilers when talking about the protagonist of a game. )
I too agree with her. When you say, " fake " I am assuming you mean how welcoming of a person she is, but she only tells what she thinks to her close friends, and even then she's an enclosed box. No one knew she would murder and would take the task to her own hands without consulting Shuuichi. By " fake " I would mainly say she hides her emotions behind a wall and keeps her other ones that she wants people to see on the other side. A good example of this would be how Kaede planned to kill the mastermind the moment Shuuichi revealed the door, yet she acted so normal on the outside that even through her perspective, all of us playing the game through her, we still couldn't tell she was going to kill. However, she leaves various clues for you to see her true intentions. For example, when Shuuichi left the classroom she started anxiously sweeping for no reason, and it felt kind of out-of-context to the player, until Shuuichi got back. Obviously if you thought about why she would've done that, I would think a conclusion would be reached that is similar to the fact that Kaede had a feeling the person who would open the library door wouldn't be the mastermind, and she would be distrusted, hated, and punished for it.
Kaede is one of the characters I strongly like in the game, probably a top 5-10, for a reason that takes your opinion a step further, which is why I decided to comment on this. You say she is a very " fake " person, and I agree with you, however, Kaede knows her motives and only wishes good with them. Generally on the inside she's a kindhearted character who would never betray her friends and the only reason she decided to kill was because she wanted to save them. The mastermind took advantage of her will and determination and used it to make her kill. Here it sounds like I'm blaming it all on the mastermind, but it is Kaede's fault too, which is probably why I like her a lot. It's a very unique flaw to try and save your friends and have it backfired on you...
I don't think I got my point across very well, but what I was trying to say is that Kaede has no malicious intent inside of her and Shuuichi was trying to prove that to her in her Argument Armament, she just got manipulated to her death.
But the part about not being honest with herself? I dont' understand what you mean witht that. She knew from the start what her goal was, why she wanted it and why she was doing everything she did. She had a clear goal, a clear wish and a clear way of getting there. It just didn't work out.
they just exhaust me basically
