Chapter 4's class trial is probably the best class trial of all time.
Not gonna spoil anything (do not read this if you haven't finished chapter 1 yet), but it was heartbreaking, yet very epic, too. It was so much fun, and it even surpasses the 1st class trial of V3 and the 5th class trial of Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair.

EDIT: Yeah, Chapter 5's even better.

Yeah, I really liked chapter 4. It was very different and new. I do think it was too easy, though. I pretty much got the whole thing from the get go.

Yeah, it was really easy. The debates often focused on stuff that's basically already been said (or very obvious to connect). You just need to pay good attention and you won't make any mistakes throughout the whole duration of the trial.

My only real problem with Chapter 4 is it belaboured the "secret of the virtual world" way too damn long. Most of us probably figured out very early on that the world loops and the loading point is actually the edge, not the centre. I'm sure a lot of us probably figured that out before the trial. :) It's never good when I have 30 to 60 minutes of slogging through the characters very slowly figuring out what seems like common sense. Most of the YouTube lets-plays I've seen seem to echo this sentiment. This game holds your hand way too damn much sometimes.

Also, if someone could throw some duct tape on Kaito's mouth, that would be super.

The rest of it was great, though. Always interesting when a would-be murderer gets the tables turned, cough-Sayaka-cough, Kokichi got some good moments to shine, and the twist regarding the murderer (not the twist about who they are, because Kokichi just flat-out tells you) was pretty original. The mechanics regarding the plan were pretty good. So was the counter to the plan. I think the only sticking point is the motive, and where this keycard was supposedly used, but I've belaboured that elsewhere and it's ultimately a nitpick. I'll just pretend there's a magic door in the courtyard that only Kokichi can see, because the rest of the cast is too stupid. Especially Gonta. :) "Gonta will save everyone by killing everyone! Plan is perfect!"

I feel so bad for Gonta. He didn't know where right or left was and of course he had bad luck (50/50). Then, most likely, his personality changed while being in the virtual world and he forgot it. There were many hints towards that and it was really cool, as well. And Miu preparing a murder was really interesting, too. It's a combination of Chapter 1 and 3 of Trigger Happy Havoc. Now put the Fun House of Goodbye Despair into the mix and there you have it ~ Chapter 4 of V3. Really, really cool. Best chapter thus far.

I hated the Funhouse chapter, personally. Behold, The Ultimate Weapon! ... gravity. :p Most gimmicky crap ever; it's probably my least favorite trial in the series. Hands up, who else couldn't click on exactly the right spot for the stupid Octagon?

I don't think Gonta's personality changed. That would actually undermine the trial to a large extent IMHO. The reason it's sad is because he made a decision and had a reason for it. That hurt case 3 in DR2 for me for the same reason; the murderer there was less Mikan and more the Convenience Disease.

I personally thought the 4th trial was okay...It didn't really stand out to me that much and I don't care for Gonta that much either. He had a somewhat questionable motive, if you have gotten to Chapter 5 and seen the, " outside world", then you would know why his motive is believable, but even then, I think it was just mostly that Ouma manipulated him to do it. He may have had the original idea to kill everyone in the trial , but if someone would've just talked him through it then he would've decided it against it. I personally blame it on Ouma for him killing. The trial was, " eh ". I figured basically all of it out except the Gonta losing his memories by putting the cords in the wrong plug-in part.
I didn't even like Gonta's execution that much. I feel like the hyping of the music didn't match his execution at all, at least until the bug exploded out of Monophannie's belly. Otherwise, I do think he has the best execution music out of all the executions so far. ( I haven't seen the 5th or 6th execution yet. I am at the very start of Chapter 5's trial. )
So basically for me: sad and depressing trial, okay motive, okay execution.

Well, I can now officially say, after just completing the 5th Chapter's Trial in Danganronpa V3, it is officially the best Class Trial in the game. No doubt about it...

Chapter 4 and 5 are the best ones in the game.

I agree. Both chapter 4 and 5 were an emotional roller coaster... It was also heartbreaking between Kaito and Shuuichi, he was just doing what he had to do and it kind of strained their friendship just a little, it made me really sad. That bromance though, eh? It placed me on the edge of my seat! Not sure if it was the best trial specifically out of all three games but definitely one of the best in V3!

If you don't think it was the best trial, then what would be your pick for best Class Trial in Danganronpa?

If you don't think it was the best trial, then what would be your pick for best Class Trial in Danganronpa?

The fifth trial from 2 just edges out V3's fifth trial for the best.

Well, I'll be excited then.

I didn't think the 4th trial was all that interesting. Only the emotional payoff was very good, but the rest of it was, to quote Himiko, "a pain". It was so friggin obvious from the start what had happened. Except I was 50/50 on who the murderer was and the "why" was a bit vague.

Without saying why (cuz spoilers), personally my top 3 trials:
1) Danganronpa 2 trial 5
2) Danganronpa V3 trial 1
3) Danganronpa V3 trial 5

Worst:
Danganronpa 2 trial 4.

Oh, yes. Danganronpa 2's fourth trial sucked.

I'm going to disagree on this one. It was too easy, so you can guess not only the killer, but pretty much most of the events in this case, so the trial becomes a drag, all you want to do is skip it. It's very logically constructed and not bad at all, of course. But not the top of my list.
