What do you think of Kaito?
I was expecting him to be Yasuhiro 2.0, but I was very VERY wrong. After V3 he easily became one of my top 5 DR characters.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. Anyone who even tries comparing him to Hagakure is an inhuman monster.

The only reason I could see people hating him would be because he calls other characters ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and acts very homophobic through out the game. I doubt they'll localize him like that since they've already censored a lot of scenes with Miu.

How can you say they've censored scenes with Miu? The game isn't even out yet. And.... how is he homophobic? I've never heard anything like that

Early copies have been given out. Even in the demo though, they censored a line about "Kaede shaking like a vibrator" and I think OmegaValwin confirmed that she no longer talks about dildos and having sex.

Kaito is pretty homophobic towards Oma throughout the game and calls him a word that starts with F and ends with aggot (steam censorship is fun) a few times. Oma acts pretty gay throughout the entire game and Kaito calls him out on it pretty much every chance he gets.

But did he do it specifically BECAUSE of his homosexuality, or did he do it because Ouma generally antagonizes them? Because the word you said can and has been used as an insult outside of homosexual contexts.

He did it because of his homosexuality, since it was the scene right after Oma started flirting with Saihara.
Just asked a friend about it, he said that what you're describing never happened. Did you get your information from Valwin?

Some of it. I really don't like going to Valwin of all people for information, but when English info so so scarce it's kinda the only real option. I have a pretty iffy understanding of the story but I have read transcripts of most of the game. I'll see if I can find the specific lines.

Honestly, I don't trust Valwin's word on anything unless someone more reliable says the same thing, and I haven't heard anyone say Kaito is homophobic

Alright, this is what I've found. He calls Shinguuji a derogatory term for a gay person in chapter 3 (not necessarially f***** but it's the same kind of word) and comments about Ouma being very creepy because he refers to every male character as -chan, and talks about how "unmasquline" he is. I believe he says something similar when Ouma steals Amami's statue and hangs it upside down next to his bed. I got Ouma and Shinguuji mixed up, but according to a friend of mine who is fluent in both Japanese and English, he does act homophobic throughout the game in a way similar to Yosuke in Persona 4.

And I don't blame you for not trusting Valwins word, I don't either.

Yeah, my friend said that the most it was was the one term to describe Shinguuji. His saying it's creepy to refer to everyone as "-chan" doesn't really seem to have anything to do with his homosexuality, and if someone hangs a statue of a dead guy upside down next to their bed, wouldn't you be creeped out by them?

I was referring mostly to the "unmasquline" thing. According to my friend, it is "undoubtably" implied that Kaito is homophobic throughout the game.

Him saying it's "unmasculine" isn't really homophobic, either.

None of us have said any spoilers, though. Besides, thgis is in the SPOILER group. We shouldn't need to mark anything unless it was moved from general discussion.
