Im still on chp 1 so no strong opinion abt plot yet
Liking the happy-go-lucky character is fine but I appreciated Hajime because he was a more relatable realistically-reacting kind of character - he called people out if they acted like a ♥♥♥♥ and wasn't naive to people's bad sides, whereas Makoto prefered to avoid conflict. I've only met all the other ultimates so far but Kaede seems more like Hajime than Makoto but with a cheekier side to her.
All in all not bad.
And the plot is the best out of the series...Not the plot twist at the end, because nothing can beat SDR2's plot twist, but how every Chapter is written out, they're the best out of the series...
I do like Kaede quite a bit. She is pretty cute too, though I don't really dig the blond hair.
I just finished Ch. 2 and I'm confident in saying that I'm starting to like DRV3's protag more than Hinata.
you have 2 protagonists which is a fresh breath to the game
anyway, Kaede is asahina style, super positive girl, which actually has the guts to do something about the situation they were put in, I wouldn't mind to have played more as her
fking detective boi Sahara is kind of a ♥♥♥♥♥, altho he gives a feeling of being really smart I don't enjoy his personality at all so yeah, HAJIME FOR THE WIN
It doesnt change the fact that I like Hajime more.
At least the v3 MC is better than Makoto
Hajime was a little bit better, since he at least had some opinions of himself. But he was too afraid of conflict and basically still somewhat of a wuss. There were plenty of things/people he didn't like but never said anything about it unless it was serious business (life and death). Until halfway/near the end he became a bit stronger as a character and I started liking him a bit more. He still was pretty average, though.
Kaede is, to me, the best protagonist of the trhee because she actually has a full personality. She has stress and doubt about what to do, but also joy and humor and lots of interaction with others. Plus, she actually tells people when they're being rude/annoying instead of just shutting up and walking away. And she was pretty quick to try and make some plans where other protags just watched and waited for at least three chapters.
TLDR:
Makoto is a nobody without personality. = bad
Hajime has some personality, but still pretty average and too meek. = okay
Kaede has a strong personality and drive to do stuff. = quite good
BIG SPOILERS:
Shuichi is somewhere between Hajime's level and Kaede's level. Again, he's way too much of a wuss at first, but he gets A LOT better instead of just a bit better like Hajime
