Something i noticed... (Chapter 6 Spoilers)
I went to look back at the first trial and noticed something, as we all know Kaede's shot missed:

As seen from this picture, it should've been obvious even from the first trial, the place where the books lead, and the blood splatter and rantaro's body dont line up, why does no one notice this...

Huh I always thought its just weird camera perspective that makes it looked not align.
Well it doesn't change the fact that whatever happens in chapter 1 actually encourage me to rush the whole game to find out if the plan really worked out that well because its just too good to be true.

Even camera perspective shenanigans, the open encyclopedias don't line up with the wood portion of the bookshelf

Edit: Anyway it's obvious from Ch. 6 class trial that the shot missed, so they not aligning is a given, what im wondering is... wel it's easy to notice that they dont align, so why does no one, let alone Mr. "Ultimate" Detective notice it.

I noticed some very strange things on the very first trial that wasn't consistent.
  • Aligment of the books vs. where Rantaro was found
  • Blood splatter on the bookshelf, which suggests that he was violently assaulted.
  • And most important, him not holding his Pad at all when he was found.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Shuichi, why couldn't you notice those thing? :/

I'll give him the benefit of a doubt because everyone is focusing on "How Kaede could do it"
At that given time. Not to mention Shuichi is Shuichi he's nowhere close to Kyoko Kirigiri.

The closing arguments of Chap 6 show that it very clearly did mean to align so I think the angle of that shot is throwing you off.

Him not holding the pad is actually not an issue. It could have just fallen out of his hands when he was hit.

But it was no where near him when he was found.

I wouldn't be shocked if it flew out of his hand. I don't remember where it was, though. If it was BEHIND him, then it'd be an issue.

His regular school pad is in his pocket when killed so that is actually a very important detail...just not at the time.

Or better to say that it could not have been followed through at the time.

Yeah he was holding the pad when he got hit, how did it magically find itself into his pocket? must have been another one, or someone was there before they arrived.

It seems that Sushi failing as a detective is the cause of everything.

To be fair, even if he HAD realized that, they wouldn't have gotten anywhere. There was no evidence for who the real killer was at that point if it wasn't Kaede.

But, it's evidence pointing that someone was there that wasnt Kaede.
Edit: That's not the point, im thinking from a PoV of a Sushi (and prolly everyone else) stuff that should've noticed when they went through the first chapter. Things that dont make sense and that could've hinted towards the possibility of another killer, or even evidence that shows that kaede didnt kill him, yet they failed at noticing it.

Also, was it even found in his pocket? I think I remember it being out of his pocket

Missed a line in that at first, it's late.

But yeah either way it's an important detail to notice but ultimately could only have been a dead end anyway.

It is discovered when Shuichi goes to search the body and I think the text specifically mentions going through his pockets. It is on his person at the very least.

It also would have been bloody if it were the same pad from the photo so he misses something either way. Early game Shuichi still has a lot to learn.

P. sure he didnt have his monopad anywhere visible, assume from the point of information of what we know as of Ch. 6, he was carrying the survivor's perk in his hand which looks like a monopad, Switching that view to Ch. 1, if we think that's the monopad, then wouldnt it make sense to be on the ground somewhere? (and probably even covered in blood like the s.perk was found), unless they think that he got hit and then decided to put his monopad stored somewhere on him.
