Twin speculation [ENDING SPOILERS]
A while ago I came up with an idea that would tie together multiple leads in the game. In short, it can be summarized as this:
- Tsumugi is unable to cosplay as Kaede, as well as the other 14 students without getting a rash
- Kaede's twin who was mentioned by Tsumugi exists
- The videos of Kaede, Shuichi and Kaito from trial 6 are fabricated and do not actually depict their past selves
- The people in the videos are actually their twins
- There is a total of 7 twin-pairs in DRV3. Reason for this is the vault combination for Rantaro's room: Horse (7th chinese zodiac) and gemini (aka twins).
- This also would explain why the videos of Maki and Himiko were not shown: They simply did not have twins to shoot the video with.

So I already had 3 twins pinned down: Akamatsu, Saihara and Momota. I am writing this because I think I have figured out 3 more twins: Amami, Tojo and Hoshi. Why is that, you might ask?
I simply tie in another unused plot device: The necronomicon. Remember how Monokuma said, you could bring back one of the dead and even insisted that they could have gone through with it after he takes back the book? If you exclude *actually* bringing back the dead, I see 2 possiblities: 1. Clones 2. Imposters. And who could be a better imposter than a brainwashed twin?

Obviously, none of the cast knew about their respective twins due to the brainwashing.
So these people do have a twin:
1. Kaede Akamatsu
2. Kaito Momota
3. Shuichi Saihara
4. Rantaro Amami
5. Kirumi Tojo
6. Ryoma Hoshi
That leaves us with just 1 more twin to find out of Tsumugi Shirogane, Kokichi Oma, Gonta Gokuhara, Miu Iruma (who kinda looks like Junko btw, just sayin'), Korekiyo Shinguji, Tenko Chabashira and Angie Yonaga.

Out of all of these Tsumugi does look the most suspicous to me for 1 reason: If she really was a cosplaycat of Junko, that would involve having (and killing) her twin. Other than that I am open for any leads.

Please keep in mind this is mere speculation though and nobody could have a twin.

I've got to admit, this is an interesting theory that pulls from several aspects of V3 that didn't seem to have a clear basis in or connection to anything.

Not to be defeatist, but I really hope you're not correct. I'm already pretty sore over how convoluted the ending to V3 was. The inclusion of twins, let alone several sets, would serve to take an already confusing situation and make it more so I think.

Retro-trashing of the canon, uncertainty as to what's true/real or lie/fiction, and now a potential "twins" angle involving multiple characters? If this is the foundation for what potential sequels to Danganronpa V3 will be like, I may have to abstain.

My theory was that Kaede's twin is actually Tsumugi, and she was helping her all along.

Well if Team Danganronpa selected the participants and were already planning some necronomicon shenanigans, then they would have conciously selected pairs of twins. 7 twins within a group of 14 random people is unlikely but if they made an effort to abduct twins, then it is plaubible.
Oh my god. That's great. I am now looking forward to your other theories, becauuse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that is genius

It sounds like a cool theory, and it has some evidence to back it up, along with Nadeshiko's theory. ( their theory seems more plausible than yours tbh ) The only thing I don't like about your theory is you don't have a why reason. I can't really think of a reason that only those people would have twins...What's the purpose of grabbing a bunch of people who have twins? And why only 7 people out of the 16 in the Killing Game. That part doesn't seem logical either.
Still a very interesting theory. But like neildittmar said, I wouldn't be very happy if this was an actual plot twist, it doesn't suffice to the end of V3 at all, in my opinion...

This seems plausible, butIf this were true then they would have to bet on Himiko and Maki to not die before introducing the necronomicon. We aren't really sure if Kaede's twin even existed, it was possibly a lie since it's part of the Gopher plan. They would also need to bet on at least
some of those 6 people to survive to show the clips. Why would they even get people without twins to participate if there is a chance they would need to show everyone their clips?

Clever thinking but for the love of God I hope its not true. That's too much. If it was a hard to find easter egg in the game that shows it that might be passable only because its crazy but the game is already over. They'd have to mention it in another game which would be weird and uninteresting at the time because we'd have new mysteries to solve. Anyway cool theory!

Ok, so I'd like to correct my opinion on the 7th twin (yes I still think that, deal with it):
Kokichi Oma.
Reason: In his motive video, Monokuma mentions his 10 loyal goons. However, without Kokichi, the video only shows 9 people. Kirumi implied that the Motive Video has flashback-light like functions so any memory to those people would be new to Kokichi. So why only show 9 but mention 10? Well maybe all 10 were shown but one of them was Kokichi's twin. Kokichi would remember being the leader of 10 people, one of them being his twin brother.

It also concerns me that Kokichi wanted to reveal his own video in chapter 2. Why would he do that? It reveals that he is in fact not the Ultimate Supreme Leader of Evil but more like the Ultimate Supreme Leader of Pranks. Maybe he wanted to show it to say that maybe his twin is working behind the scenes for the mastermind.

Maybe that's why he is the "Supreme" Leader and not just "Leader". Kokichi's brother is a leader, but Kokichi himself is the Supreme Leader.

did you forget that this whole thing is written by tsumugi and is entirely fiction, she could have written however she wants, hell she couldve added the whole twins thing (im speaking like its not a theory lol anyway) so the audience could speculate and enjoy the story more, since tsumugi wrote it everything is a lie, and that was the whole premise of the story so even if keades twin sister and the gopher project is a lie, everything is a lie so it wouldnt really matter
