Is there anything I'm missing so far?
I'm a veteran of the EO series and am a fan of dungeon blobber games, so this game has been quite fun for me to play in my down time, as I enjoy the freedom to explore the dungeon in a non-linear fashion. However, as I've only recently made it to the Gnome Kingdom and have finished the first encounter scenario there, I've got a few questions regarding some things I'm having trouble understanding. (I'm slow so forgive me for any confusion.)

1. I'm aware of how the Witch's Coven works, in that I can now have two attackers and one support, however I'm confused on why there would need to be a support at all. Yes, I get that they support the front line via stat boost/whatever the coven provides, but they don't get any EXP, so it seems kinda pointless to make a doll and put it in the slot to do nothing at this early stage.

2. While I'm not making any kind of min/max dolls yet, I am confused on how dual wielding or equipping a second (but different type) weapon works on a doll. For example, my knight has a lance in his right hand, but a sword in his left. Does this do anything positive, or is it a negative? And how do shields work?

3. While breaking walls is great fun, it can be troublesome in certain areas in the first dungeon, (like right near the entrance if you know what I mean), where the enemy difficulty spikes to such a difficult degree. I imagine I'm supposed to come back here later, but why is this a thing (other than it being a NIS game)? I imagine it's a later dungeon or something? (More or less obvious, but the sudden jump in enemies is quite jarring.)

4. I know there is a massive guide sheet made online, but I don't quite know what I'm looking at from reading it on Mobile, since I play on the go more, and could use a breakdown on how to understand it if anyone has the time to simplify it.

5. Karma isn't really explained in the game mechanics wise, and I already have 5. Why is this?

6. Is there anything I've missed out on or should prepare for? (Not trying to spoil the game, but I can't help but feel like I've forgotten something or am missing something.)

I can't think of anything else right now, but if there's anything someone wants to add, or knows of a beginner friendly resource that's easy to read, feel free to drop me a recommendation.

Thanks in advance!

Not quite true, each slot in a coven generally gains exp, and the amount of exp each character slot gains depends entirely on the pact they're in. Each slot has a unique exp multiplier (displayed in-game), there are some pacts where the support slots get more exp than the attack ones. Also, the Marginal Maze innate ability to power up donum stacks for each puppet in the coven that has it, even if they're in the support slots.

In most cases, only the attributes of the weapon in the main slot is considered for attacks (type resistances and range mismatch penalty), with the main benefit of a shield/secondary weapon being the stats they give you. The Shinobushi dual wield ability enables you to attack with two weapons if you have at least S-proficiency for both of them, and Peer Fortress has an ability to get increased chance to redirect hits for each katar they wield.

Regarding the stronger enemies, the first area of the game is the only place where this happens, you don't really need to worry about breaking walls after that. The game will basically let you know when to go there, and there's no point in exploring that part before then.

Karma can be gained from events or killing specific enemies, and there's a repeatable petition to reset it back to 0 (will be available later if it isn't already). It's generally a negative thing (notably increases your risk of taking gore crits), but there are some things that benefit from higher karma.

Would be happy to help, but not sure which guide sheet you're referring to or what you're looking for exactly.
I think I'm just over analyzing things here, since it seems to still be the early bits of the game here, as it doesn't seem to be too difficult yet. I likely was expecting something harder than what I've been reading into since people seem to be talking about how hard this game is, and I haven't hit that wall yet.

Plus, I think my previous game experiences in these type of blobber games helps out when I need to, it's just NIS games tend to be too complicated in some cases ( *cough* Disgaea *cough*). Plus, there are some things that aren't well explained in this game yet, so it'll probably just be expanded upon in later stages.

Thanks for the help here for the few questions I had. I'll come back and post more if I need further help.

If you're coming from the classic EO titles or 3DS ones on expert, this just isn't a hard game in comparison. It does pick up a bit though compared to the first two areas which are just very easy.

This is a great resource that I've referred to many times. I think it's pretty straightforward and readable though. Maybe it's too straightforward and you're missing context for some of the things?

Lol it's as I was afraid of, just me getting lost in the numbers again.

I'll come back to the guide when I need further in depth assistance, so I'll keep this in mind.

Thanks!
