Trying to get more puppets

so I just got the alchemy pot and I'm trying to make more puppet soldiers . It says (you don't have room for new puppet soldiers) is there anyway I can get more get more room?

There are witch petitions for that. If you don't have them yet, you have to progress with the story.

Is there any reason to have many puppets ?
I made my 5 characters team and don't see why I would ever modify the roster by exchanging one with a lvl1 new character.
Am I missing something ?

Many of the more advanced Pacts have more than one Puppet slot; you want to fill them all.

And different pacts give diferent bonuses and have different restrictions on the puppets in each slot. You want to use different pacts & formations depending on your immediate goals.

Also it's nice to have a "B" Team for when characters get disabled or disemboweled and you're not ready to leave just yet.

And when you're soul transfer powerleveling.

Ah, nice advice, I didn't think about a B team to replace the damaged characters, I was only thinking about leveling puppets (or give bonuses) with these slots. That's sommething I should think about, thanck you for the tip.
