What were you doing before reproducing the bug?
Before my infamy all got wiped due to a bug reported elsewhere, I discovered that through a combination of infamy related bonuses, I was able to generate essentially infinite income if I wanted to (I don't).

By reducing the hiring costs of new fighters and increasing the selling cost of items, I was able to, for example, hire and fire a new leader for incredibly cheap, unequip all of their gear, and sell the gear at profit, fire the leader, repeat.

Usually the leader comes with a few pieces of armor and a weapon or two. A couple classes in particular tend to be equipped with gear that sells for more. It's not incredibly quick, but it is definitely exploitable.
