IDD, any game that keeps a single save for your entire progression is asking for trouble. It's bad enough in ironman games, but here you can potentially have dozens or even hundreds of hours lost because of a corrupted file. Having a backup or two makes sense.
As always, nice and easy to locate </sarcasm>
Hello, really sorry to read that!
We can send you a save file of any chapter of the story campaign if you'r einterested. It won't give back your gangs but at least you can continue the campaign. You can send us an email to community@focus-home.com with the chapter you're looking for and we'll do our best to help.
Save corruption issues are the priority of the team right now. We're doing our best to fix them quickly.
Awesome! Thank you for your reply. I wasn't that far along in the story, so I'll pass. But I am sad that my gangers are all gone. I'm choosing to view it as a practice run and will regularly back-up my saves now. Onward to total domination!
Somewhere inside me I feel pangs of sympathy for even Nethos, having to come here posting stuff like this.
Thanks. Can't remember the last time I played a game that was so severely hamstrung from the start. Though Far Cry 5 was pretty touchy too.
Are you sure about that???
I sent you all an email over 3 months ago (Dec 1st, 2020), and I am STILL waiting for any kind of real response regarding my problem on the matter.
I sent my entire save folder, as was recommended, including screenshots, as was recommended, to the email address you listed above, and the only response I've had thus far is:
"Thank you for contacting Focus Home Interactive and for your report on Necromunda: Underhive Wars.
Your report has been forwarded to the Quality Assurance team for investigation with the developer Rogue Factor.
Regards,
Focus Home Interactive"
I still have all my gangs, the Campaign still shows as completed from start to finish, but I've lost all my infamy points (almost 180), after nearly 120 hours worth of play. I took a break from the game for a while, in the hopes of hearing something back, but I have to say I'm rather disappointed by the lack of response so far.
Yesterday I finally decided to give up on receiving a response and decided to jump back in, since I was in fact enjoying the game, despite the numerous issues. First thing I tried was to complete Chapters 5, 10 and 15, since I've completed the campaign and those seemed like some of the easier infamy points to recover...
Completed Chapter 5, and... Nothing.
Completed Chapter 15, hoping it would maybe unlock all three, and... Nothing, which means I'm completely locked out of unlocking those Chapter related Infamy points.
I completely backed-up and then erased my local save files, and blocked Steam from syncing my save files from the cloud, so I could start completely fresh and test it out. Yup I can unlock it all by literally erasing all my progress.
I restored my save files and messed around with my last used gang, which is currently the only one in an active operation. I managed to unlock the gear related Infamy points, but only the highest ones, nothing below that, same goes for the weapons related infamy points.
It's rather frustrating considering my 3 top gangs have Strength Ratings of 4336, 4803, and 5023, and starting any operation with 0 infamy points will put me at a massive disadvantage when trying any of the harder operations.
Suffices to say I haven't and will not be buying the newly released and releasing gangs if this isn't resolved in some way. I have no issues restarting from scratch, but I won't spend another dime on a game where all my progress could once again be lost out of the blue.
I am especially disappointed by the lack of support since (being a huge W40K fan) I was so excited about Necromunda: Underhive Wars since it's announcement, even pre-ordered it, despite so many disappointments lately, mostly due to the fact that I loved what was accomplished with Mordheim: City Of The Damned.
