Necromunda: Underhive Wars
Is Orlock Deadeye OP?
So i started playing the orlock gang, got a deadeye leader and a regular, and i've never had anyone other than them be MVF.

They get double tap, almost always keep overwatch and just spam crits with autoguns. Not to mention their mobility.

What are your guy's opinions? The only way i got to match any of them is with frenzy heavy. I love them but honestly kinda struggle to justify the rest of my team

I run Orlock, 4 deadeye's and 1 heavy.

I don't feel in the least bit sorry about it.
Yeah those guys are kind of stupid.I used them for a bit then switched to 5 Lay-Mechanics, I can't remember the last time I saw anything live through Hydraulic Slam.
They are a good gang and class, but it's more of the AI being too weak. Imagine if AI responded with Heroic:Barrage skill on their turn deleting your Deadeyes from greater range. My own team would also feel pretty safe under all the buffs and Safeguard Aura.
You can max all the stats you need for Deadeye(Intelligence, Accuracy, Ranged Apt, Alertness) with any house, Orlock can reach it a bit more faster doesnt have to spaen stat upgrade points that much on those.
It's the house specific passives that push it over the edge: tons of bonuses for Overwatch, getting Crits and Crit damage bonuses, INI and so on.
So yeah at the moment Orlock has the best ranged fighters but that doesnt mean that other Houses cant build decent ones.
The problem is that in a player vs player (IA lose because its a bit dumb and dont use heroic bbarrage or double shot enough but have bonus hp and and defences later on also have extremely defensiv builds often giving them 100%graze very often) scenario deadeyes hit so hard they can kill a ganger every turn...a double shot build or a crit build will slaughter anything they aim at...

Same for heavies so a good use of positioning and initiativ will usually allow you to kill a guy per turn for every heavy and deadeye you have...

I would say Escher is very competetive here, since their "take two"(activates on graze or evade) reduce the cost of Shoot and reload.

You too can get very high Hit Resistance on your characters. You just have to build for it rather than go full glass cannon.
All Brawlers can get very high Hit Resistance, making Autoguns much less painful. Also, if you worry about volume of fire(even grazes can kill with enough bullets), just focus on Piercing armor and things that provide damage reduction/healing over time.

Goliath can get very high damage reductions from skills, while Escher can easily dope themselves into immortallity. But it requires that you take those skills over "all the damage possible".

Yeah when I was trying to finish of a Escher Brawler leader that I had heavily injured the turn before. My lascannon and lasgun hit for 13 dam instead of 50+ . :)
Don't discount the Sab and the Lay-mech, both are very useful and can help rounding your team up regardless of which house you choose.

My current main gang has two deadeyes because they are great alongside my Sab, Lay & Heavy (all range tuned).

I also have a Goliath team that has 4 melee tuned gangers and one Heavy (that has a side of melee).
