Lowlands, NW, SE parts
I see people talking about dwarven ruins and some fort in the lowlands.
I am finishing up the island now.
Can I access these areas? I went back there and didn't see a way to get to the NW part of the map, even though there are enemies back there. (where all the fairy circles were)
In the SE part past the ogres, there are some bridges, but I don't think I can lower them.

It this something I missed or something that opens up later?

The Dwarven Ruins are more SW area of the map. Leave the central hut heading that way, toward the sea/ocean. There are walkways down to the shore and the entrance is there. It's accessible from the time you step onto the map. That being said, I had to go back later after finishing most of the rest of the forest area(s) as the initial fight was very very red for me. :)

Ah so you get to the dwarven ruins from one of the paths from the forest town. Ah... I thought you actually got to them from the lowlands map. Thanks, I found them.

Now I can either do them main quest, do the ruins, or do the necromancers tower.

This game has a lot of side areas.

You find your way to the other side by other means and use the lever (usually) to lower the bridge. The log bridges are almost always just a means to get back from the location quicker than having to go backtrack through the same way you used to get there.

With the dwarven ruins, I hope there is either more to it further in the game a little because the loading screen implies more and also the ghost of the now dead character you dismiss in the beginning of the game to go help elsewhere implies there's more to it as well. The whole dungeon was over too soon for me. I was hoping there's more to the weapon of the gods contest too other than some silly notes.

So it sounds like the SE part of the lowlands might be connected from a area later in the game.
The NW corner I am sure not about (NW of Fiona's house, fairy circle area), I climbed up a tower and could see some low level looking enemies, but I have no idea how to get to them. Maybe I will upload a screenshot later. Maybe it's just a simple breakable wall that I missed.

Ahh, for the SE area are you meaning the area off the road with the three giants or trolls or whatever they area? That area is most definitely connected but as usual for those wooden bridges, you'll connect from the other side of it

I also really want to know how you get this island in SE corner of Lowlands, directly south of sentry tower. The area where the ogres roam, near the caravan key, there is a bridge and you can see the lever to lower the bridge on the other side but there is apparently no way to get there.
