Venomous Pestilence

[Drakmour]

One handed elven sword Venomous pestilence asks to kill a Giant. Who is it? I killed a big demon from Doom but the sword wasn't activated. "The ground beneith the giant may shake with every thump, but strike swift, stay nimble, and leave the in a lump." Am I killing wrong enemy or doing something wrong?

I know this is rather too late to help you, but in case anyone else happen to have the same question, you have to kill an actual giant. Right where you get the sword, you proceed to go back outside transition back to the map you came from with the Jarl. There close to the first save point you'll see a Necro Giant. You can't really miss it as it's pretty much in the way of you moving forward. Once you kill it, just inspect the sword again, and insert the final yellow gem.

I think this is because it's the old regular BT4 forum of 4 years ago, instead of the BT4 DC forum. I'm amazed people still use this, since it's more than 3 years ago the game upgraded to the DC (I don't think you can even buy the original anymore these last years).

I got here by searching for the issue on google, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that a future gamer with the same problem will land here as well. My problem occurred in the director's cut version, so it's not fixed there either.

Yeah, I end in such threads almost every time when I search issues with old games. :-) I didn't even played the game after I finished original one. As I remember they didn't add much new content in new one. For example there was a bridge somewhere near the tower that wasn't functional, I had an idea that it was for a DLC.

If the purpose is, indeed, to kill this giant to activate it, I would say it's not a bug in the first place?

Well, I would suggest to go to BT4 DC forum. It's an older game by now, but at least the forum there is still a bit more active than here. ;-)
