Fort garendon secret door
Does anyone know how to open the secret door at fort garendon? my thief detects a chest and the map shows there is a secret room behind but I cant figure out how to open it.
( I am not talking about the room you open with the 4 runes )

Face that door and then over to the right at the bottom of the wall behind some stuff is a rough rock you can push. It's the usual "Oh, yay. 30 coins. Again." reward though :)

While we're on the subject of Fort Garendon...

Later on I came across a broke structure thats supposed to be a portal (based on the loading screen). I believe its part of the Haernhold DLC that leads to the Dwarven place called Kinestria.

I have no idea how to fix the portal, or even if its possible in the current state of the game. Does anyone have insight?

And while we're still on the subject of Fort Garendon ... :-D

What is it whith the 300 armor-dwarfen giant in the basement?
I can't get the armor down, even with 2 biting taunts and 4 sundering slashes, because the armor value bugs out at round 2 or 3. Has anyone killed this thing? Is there something valuable behind it?

Killed him purely with mental damage.

I wore it down using the AOE damage skill from my bard and a lot of mental damage.
Most of the mental damage came from my mage, but my rogue had some legendary spear equipped which rooted the dwarf in place and did a decent amount of mental damage as well.
As for tanking, I had my tank quaffing potions of greater armor and taunting every round.

So it took a while, but was relatively easy all in all.

I killed him mostly with mental damage. I also had an acidic wand which removed some armor with every attack of arcane barrage.

I'd also which to know to more.
I can select "Open" and "Close" but nothing seems to happen.

Go with the Mage true strike damage spell, in the 20s does 200+ damage per hit and bypasses all Armor, Use Bard reset cooldown ability and you can hit the giant twice in a turn. Use 4 spell point potions to give mage the neccessary mana to cast the spell each round.

I dont think its a bug, but by design he pops a resistance buff and his armour goes back up - its seemed to me to be more likely to trigger if you keep using taunts, but it can happen in response to any attack.

-- You can only subject the guy to the same crowd control effect once. So multiple biting taunts won't work (they'll move him on the board, but only the first one will reduce armor). There was another boss this "buff" was on, but I don't recall which one offhand. If you look at his health bar, there's an icon under it from the start of the fight that tells you this information.
-- I just loaded up my charcters with all the mental and true damage they could possibly do. And for some reason once I'd gotten around 100hp off of him, none of them worked.
I had my mage land 2 of those spells that should have done 150+ dmg each time, and while the tooltips float up indicating that the damage occurred, the HP bar never actually went down.
Since this is the lead-in to a DLC area I might just put this off for now. :(

FYI he is killable now. But not clear where to go after him. There are 2 "OPEN/CLOSE" things there but don't do anything. :steamfacepalm:
