Is there a decent guide for this game anywhere?
I backed it on kickstarter ages ago and apparently I have the strategy guide but it just has how to solve puzzles, nothing on character building etc. Are there good builds or party compositions posted anywhere? How the heck do I upgrade Kael's Axe? Is there any way to respec? What items are worth buying at the start and which aren't?

Yeah, I downloaded it (legally) and looked through it. As far as I can tell it's mostly puzzle solutions (i.e., where to push blocks, etc.) I'm looking more for stuff like "is light armor good for bards" or "the magic doohuickey you can grab from the vendor by the fountain is a great early level buy" type things. You know, strategies.

edit: also is there any way to auto sort the inventory

I guess you have to wait. It's normal for brand new games that there is a lack of guides and problem solutions. The Strategy Guide only helps with the main quest as i saw, and even there only the main path. There is no side-puzzle escribed last time i looked (which i did carefully to not spoil).
It's the fate of early adopters :-D

I'd also suggest the DIY approach, per the links here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/566090/discussions/0/1733212454824544831/

I complained about the same thing until I actually read the description texts on the armour skills.

It'll explain what stats they favour.

This weaponsite has been a little help and is easier for me than the guidebook, but so far I couldn;t find the specific help I need figuring out those elven tree things.

That first question about light armor is exactly the one I want answered. (my first playthrough of this) Can't decide whether to waste my first skill point on it or not.

The answer is complicated unfortunately. I'd probably say light armor if you plan on making the bard a backliner, medium armor if you plan on a frontliner, with *probably* weighting towards medium armor because the only real advantage of elven armor is the spell point boost from elven and you can get enough max sp elsewhere. Game really needs a respec option though.

The descriptions usually give you a fair clue. They'll tell you which stats the various armours favour. Do yourself a solid though and go into a shop and check out the boots for each type of armour, as some of them can make or break a build. Berserker has a depressing amount of useless health in favour of other stats, but the boots for example makes the entire investment worth it, since it means a rogue can basically use the entire turn using slinking strike.
