Similar games to Zeus?
I used to play this game many years ago. I really like strategy games but specially for the economic/building part so this is one of my favourite strategy games.

I wonder if you know similar games, not so based in combat (as age of empires, tzar, imperium etc) but more in the civilian part.

Ceasar, Pharaoh 2 games I still play from time to time.
My CD versions work fine on Win 7 64 bit.

Children of the Nile is a 3D update of Pharoah that may work. Also Caesar 4. And Banished is kinda similar game style.

Probably the game most similar to Zeus is a very fine game known as Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom by the same devs with the same engine, released in 2002, a few years after Zeus.
It is in my opinion the best of the 2D series of historical city builders by Impressions (Caesar III-Pharaoh-Zeus-Emperor) and perhaps the best historical city builder overall but sadly the only one not on steam.

The truth is that even the 3D titles Caesar IV and Children of the Nile are over a decade old now, and while they're both good in their own right the earlier 2D games were IMHO better anyway.

Other similar games include Civcity: Rome, Glory of the Roman Empire, the Grand Ages series, and the Anno series is somewhat similar as well.
This IS a genre that IMHO peaked early, with some great 2D titles from the late 90s-early 00s then some average, some good 3D titles in the mid-late 00s before just kind of stopping by the early 10s with only a few established series such as Anno still releasing regular installments.
Fortunately indie games like Banished are appearing and breathing some new life into the genre lately.

W10 is sadly just not the best OS for playing this genre, imho, given how a lot of the genre's best stuff is quite old now.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Building_Series is a good overview about games which are very similar to the ones you mentioned, sharing several main aspects and mechanics.

I agree that Banished is a great game, no combat. There are a couple of games in the works:

I like Lethis Path of Destruction. Its a pretty cute game similar to zeus. Its mostly based on building and city managment with no war.

Not tried it yet, but could Citadelum be a nice successor maybe?

It's the closest thing honestly. It's pretty great. I hope they add a few more features and it'll truly be the nearest thing to a sequel we will ever get. The combat needs work and I hope they add monsters and heroes but otherwise it's on a great track to be great

Purchase Caesar II and Pharaoh from steam. I have them both and they play on my Windows 10 PC.

You may want to check out this help for those and other games, including Emperor.
