Same issue here. It too loud, drowns out other sounds ya need to hear. Tried lowering volume slider in game menu sound but it just lowers all sounds. Figured our once how to enter pregame setup where ya can choose, test, video res, sound card. I think there were 2 volume settings there, 1 for midi, 1 for sound fx. I wasn't sure if midi is just music or what. I'll soon go back experiment with that. I suspect midi refers to just music. I thought it might also lower the funny voice comments.

CD or DVD needed for 8-Track to work and play music.
Unless maybe you got a version with it included in installation folder I guess.
Find the redneck.cfg file. There's 1 in Redneck Rampage\Redneck folder as well as Redneck Rampage Rides Again\Again folder.
Open it with Notepad. Find where it says music volume = 200 and change the 200 to 100. I found it let me easily hear all other sounds. You can change other things here like screen res to maybe 1024 x 768. Looks awesome. It will go higher. Those settings are also changeable visible using dox box commands for setup.exe . But that needs lot of steps typed entered in dos box command window. Easy pleasy just open cfg file in correct folder to change many things and save file. JIC you mess it up, before opening it, right click file to copy, then try to paste it in same folder, windows will add (1) to it which you can rename as backup. ;-)
If worried about heating cpu too much in older pc, like me, get and run Coretemp. It shows in task bar both cpu core temps, % ram use, % cpu use and clock speed which will vary.
Once in RR, push keyboard windows key, this pulls game out of full screen mode to window, you just have to click it in program task bar at bottom. It's size determined by your game res setting and your monitor res setting.
Enjoy the humorous music, speech, sound fx, pictures, signs, etc. ;-) Yeeeeeehawwww !! hee hee :-)

oops, sorry, forgot to add following : When in game, if you already had music playing, but at some point it doesnèt continue with 8 tracks, use esc for options menu while in game, go to sound, 8-track, hit enter key. 8 track player should come on screen, if it doesnt start playing, notice the power witch is likely down off, hit enter key turns it on, in game f4 burrion brings up sound options, go to 8 track, enter key opens it, enter key again turns it on or off... allowing you to choose which track with keyboard keys, mouse, you may notice on player the power button is down to off, hit enter key again will turn it on. choose a track number. I also seem to have got it to replay just my fave track. Not sure how ythough hee hee. :-( 1 of the keys or combo of keys i guess i was trying with player on screen.
