Knight letting teammates die from blows he could withstand when defending
I've been on a wild goose chase trying to figure out why Knight hasn't been defending my teammates and letting them die despite his HP being full, and people say it's because the unit being defended has to have 50% or less HP. I already know this is wrong as I have witnessed a knight defend a Ragezerker at full health. Honestly the auto-fight being so percentage based really peeves me cus Darkmage will use a 7K attack on an enemy with a grand total of 3 HP cus it has 100% HP and I hope it's just a tad more true numbers based and less percentage based in the sequel. However this isn't an auto-fight issue. Noble is automatic with and without auto-fight. It's completely useless if he never uses it and just lets his teammates die for hits he could absolutely be taking with a damage half buff that he gets from defending. It's not a major issue but perhaps something to be addressd in the sequel that I am definitely looking forward to as I love this game, but Knight being not so useful definitely makes me eager to replace him with a Healer/Knight Shifter when I get there soon, but they'd be less useful I suppose without a good enough Shifter relic which is the hardest thing to get in the game period... which I'm not stoked about. Honestly another point of contention is hopefully post game unlocks are a tad less ridiculous when demanding caps cus by the time you get them now there's nothing left to do and their potential is meaningless cus you've done everything.

Either way Knight is really only good for preventing Ambushes and letting you only get Fountain/Warp/Bonus Treasure cus Noble just straight up doesn't work lategame where enemy stats scale and with Ragezerker only your ATK can scale. So if they get in even one hit you're done for, especially without having really expensive relics like the Ragezerker or shifter relics. Knight is so necessary for ambush alone and Ragezerker keeps ATK scaling decently but not as much as enemies. Maybe you could get by without healers but is it worth the risk and Ragezerker is kinda just a must have for longevity runs. I went from floor 1 to 2000 in one go and I have absolutely no doubt Ragezerker was essential cus the stat increase he gives is so ridiculous over time. I know defeat is a natural part of the game's progression anyway so I don't care too much, I was more agitated on the lack of information regarding how Noble really works and since I think I got it down I wanted to put it out there.

New classes are probably inevitable with the sequel so a buff or debuff class would be pretty cool. Anyway, just wanted to throw that info/feedback out there. Looking forward to the sequel!

Honestly guys he doesn't even act consistently at all. He just guarded a darkmage twice when he was at less than half his HP and the darkmages were literally double his health and at full. What the crap. How does Noble even work??? That's literally all I want to know. Does he just only guard when he feels like it or???

It's only a chance to defend teammates not a guarantee.

Even doing absolutely nothing in combat, knight is the most important class just to avoid traps and ambushes.

I don't recommend shifter (healer + knight).

If you're at the point of getting shifters, you should be at the point of running for 1 round wins.

That means you want to be in the level range where the enemies don't ever attack so you get the fastest gold possible.

Then, when you hitt he point where they DO get to attack you, you want to lose as soon as you can to re-start another run in the range where the enemies don't get to attack before they're dead.

Running with a healer defeats the purpose. Both because they aren't as strong as a damager so you don't 1 round kill as long and also because once you start taking damage, the healer starts healing which lowers their damage to nothing AND extends the time range where you're having each round take longer to finish.

Fewer kills in the same time = less gold in the same time = slower gains.

Oh yeah, sorry if this reply is late. I've been learning through experimentation what works but at the moment 1 Darkmage is enough to obliterate absolutely everything because Mag% is so broken and I've been powering up DM relic too. I use a Thief for Soda Stein and chest bonus (I know it's timeloss and low percentage of good relics but I want to max all the relics even if they go up to 1.5B) as well as Wizard for the warp bonus (helps scale levels and therefor gold as I also wanna max out dungeon levels) and then my Shifter is a Knight/Darkmage who gets the trap and ambush buff but has Necroblast should the Level 80 boss ever be a problem DM and Wizard can't deal with. I get almost 10 caps per 10 floors now in LOD.

Also I just let the game run in the background as I do my daily work so it's not something I'd actively play to make them leave dungeons repeatedly. I'll probably get Combat Crush soon cus my Gold Relic is 14K now. I already have max equippable of all items, all pets max level, and all Shifter stones max level, and just need Halloween masks.

Honestly, 10% chance to gain 1 relic level with stein that costs you that much kill speed doesn't make sense.

Your thief hitting with stein makes the 3 enemy levels take twice as long even if it 1 shots the enemy it hits first. So more than 20% of the levels take twice as long to kill.

IDK I just really don't care but also Soda Stein's bonus is static regardless of how many caps you need for a level and like I said, I am going to try to max every relic so there is no such thing as a bad level up for it. Idk I don't actively play it even it plays itself and I am just comfortable doing this so as long as I'm okay that's all that matters. I do not need to be 1000% effficient. If I reach the max levels that's all that matters and if I need 35 caps for one level up that's 35 x 1.5 billion gold instantly earned through Soda Stein and it happens often enough that I get at least 20 levels or up to 200 per run in every single relic.
