Level 500 weirdness
Recently I started a 2nd save file for fun. In dimension 5, I unlocked magic well and ran LoD a few times between normal dungeon attempts. This last attempt I apparently made a big push because I came back from afk expecting to have lost around lvl 450 but found my team fighting the lvl 500 boss. I quickly took control and decided to attempt the fight without leaving the dungeon for a 5x healer 10 level run to the fight again. with 2x healer 2x thief knight (my preffered push team) I managed to kill the boss using the 2 healers for damage / spot heals and the rest of the team defending as damage spread.
The weirdness happened because 2 rounds before the boss died, the 1 skeleton I had sitting to keep boss form summoning more managed to kill itself with reflected damage. Then boss resummoned skeletons and they all killed 2nd healer and both thieves. Then I killed the boss with the skeletons still there. they finished off my knight leaving just 1 healer alive who killed 1 skeleton then died so I failed to beat level 500. However... when I loaded in town and entered the tavern thinking I'd have to run it again... the wizard congratulated me and unlocked the portal out in town.
I guess beating the dimension boss level isn't neccessary... just killing the boss unlocks the next portal. I can't remember for 100% sure but this might be the only boss it can happen on because I think it's the only one with extra monsters to kill..

You're right, it is the only boss that summons monsters, and killing the boss is all that is needed to go to the next deminsion

How exactly do you kill the level 500 boss? I had a dark mage, fighter, healer, merchant, berserker, and the boss took 0 damage after several minutes of auto attacking. Is this a heals do damage boss?
@Ragnarok:

You don't Auto Demora (Level 500 boss), you go at her manually and use the healer's Heal spell against her.

The only way you can cause damage to the boss is by manually casting a heal on her. You can damage the skeletons she summons with normal attacks though. If you don't manage to beat her with your usual progression team, and it'd be hard to do with just 1 healer, you can go back with a team with multiple healers and start at level 491. Also, since healers' heals are all based only on their max health, you can put on a set of gear to maximize their health instead of normal damage gear. All you should need in group other than healers are classes to help you get through those 9 levels between 491 and the boss and maybe have some bottles to refill mana. If you don't have a knight in group I recommend manually coninuing at side paths to avoid traps and hoping you don't catch ambushes getting to boss.

Thanks for the help Handoiron. I was wondering what was going on with that boss that several minutes of auto attack didn't do a single point of damage to her. Oh well, looks like I'll try it again with 2-4 healers.

Just remember you will still need to get through 9 levels of dungeon to reach boss so either make sure you have a knight or manuallt continue past the dorrs to avoid traps and hope for no ambushes. Also it's good to form a plan for the skeleton adds. if you leave both of them up that boss attacking plus 2 skeletons that hit for about 1/2 of what the boss hits for. If you kill both skeletons you need to do it every round so 2 or more attacks aren't hitting the boss and the boss re-summons them right away and they both attack but boss doesn't attack. If you leave 1 alive, you can mostly ignore it but boss plus it attacks each round and you can have any non-healers defend instead of attack so there is at least a chance of 1/2 damage if they get hit.
