Widescreen Resolution Patch

Assuming that the Steam release has not been updated, there is no native support for newer widescreen resolutions.
There is however a set of fan-made patches for this, and some of the other Impressions Games series.

Patches for both the Pharaoh[www.wsgf.org] and Cleopatra[www.wsgf.org] versions of the game are available from the Widescreen Gaming Forum.

To use the patch, replace the default Pharaoh.exe in the game directory, with the one that corresponds to your desired resolution, and then select 1024x768 resolution in-game.

This is not my patch, though I've played with it, I'm providing the information hoping somebody finds it useful.

Use Cleopatra patch, pharaoh one is not working! :)

The Steam release includes the Cleopatra addon, so that would be the version you to use yeah.

Its not working for me. I got black screen when i try to change resolution and then it goesd back to its 640.480 one. What a bs

You could try loading the default version of the game and changing the resolution there first, then loading the patched version.
Or maybe you selected a resolution that your monitor doesn't support by mistake ?

I tried it now and works great, also the color looks much better. thanks.

I downloaded the "Fix for Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile v.2.1" version, had a black screen first but then I presst with my mouse and the pop up came who asked if I like to change my settings.

do you have more patches for the other games like caesar 3 and 4?

There are also patches for at least Caesar 3, Emperor, and Zeus. I think you can find all of those burried somewhere in that same thread.

Not working for me. Screen just flickers between my normal resolution and the default one for the game and then finally settles back to the games default resolution.

turn off auto scaling, find exe fail right click, options, compability, there u will find auto scaling something bla bla, turn it off, worked for me, still lookts terrible cause game do not suppose to run at 3-4k

yes, i had the same all is okay, its only the mirror link.

Loved this game. Patch doesn't work and at some point game crashes. Oh well..

you must download "Fix for Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile v.2.1" with 1080p it works flawless

Have gog version of these old titles and none of the widescreen fixes work on windows 10,dont care what anyone says they do not work on windows 10! sadly

i cant tell you about gog but i used the patch above and im running win10 64 pro and it works.
