COOP VR - With Friend in Flat Game?

I read its possible to play the First-Encouter with a Friend using the Standart HD version but i cant find his server in the VR version and when i invite him he cant join and steam wants him to purchase the vr version - any help?

You both have to play through Fusion game client, not a standard HD version.

yes im aware of that - my friends started it thru fusion - and i open the first encounter vr.
BC when i open fusion while steam vr is running it just opens in flat mode on the desktop?

Both of you need to open fusion. You start it in VR, and your friend normally. If you have Tfe VR, it should be possible to open Fusion in VR mode.

i found the problem - the problem was i couldnt open fusion in vr mode since i only could play the vr version due to the free weekend.

after i bought the croteam vr pack everything worked as described. thanks for the quick help!

Next time that happens, you can both just install and start the VR version. The VR version is flat compatible.
