Can we please getr rid of the awful mipmap blurring please?
Vulkan blurs things to heck uness you put it at -1, its still not how it should be until set to -3 but then its far too aliased.

d3d11 has the least issues but i dont think going below 0 effects anything but alpha textures.

d3d12 is kind of inbetween. Honestly, can we plase get much better mipmaps in the new updates to come? Serious sam ahs amazing textures but they are always put down by the bad mip maps.

All on vulkan. Since the latest drivers, only vulkan allows to go below 0. So much texture detail is lost becuase of this.

Oh and for the record. Some more bugs.

D3D12 still detects an incorrect driver number and asks for a more modern one on launch but can be simply ignored.

Vulkan Only detects 4gb for textures while all others allow me over 20.

D3d12 also only apparently detects 11.0 features instead of 11.1.

sfx_bSoftwareMixer = 0 causes custscenes to play all audio at x100 speed

Comparison screenshots to D3D11/12 regarding textures' blurring also, please...

Dx11 http://i.imgs.fyi/img/3hbj.png

Dx12 http://i.imgs.fyi/img/3hbi.png

Going below 0 has definetly no effect what so ever. both were taken at -1 for proof.

I tested that in all serious sams in fusion. All the same blur result.

Tx, will investigate and report here soon...

Ok, hawkeye, here's what I've found...

Nvidia mipmap selection is more aggresive on Vulkan by default - it's a driver issue, and can be fixed by setting texture fitering mode to high-quality or disable trilinear optimizations in nv control panel. (IDK why this affects only Vulkan - you should probably ask NV that.) :/

DX11 and 12 on NV are the same.

DX11 and Vulkan on AMD are the same, while DX12 there has a bit blurier mipmaps, but not as bad as NV vulkan.

HTH

Also, I don't know what you mean by "bad mipmaps"...? :/

By "bad mipmaps" i meant overly agressive mipmaps that lose detail.

Great find however. Thanks for the solution. Simply put, the textures is serious sam games are all too good for me to tolerate blurring like that.
