BFE in Fusion
So, I suppose we shuold w8 for BFE, right? How long we shuold wait? I'm not trying to rush you, but I'm curious to know at least the approximate date. Besides I'm a big fan of BFE a lot more than other Sam. So, Croteam?

Oh man I really hope they do this. BFE kicked up so much dust I was having Bad Company 2 flashbacks.

I like the dust. Good news is it isn't as laggy with Fusion being 64-bit and multi-core. Not to mention the new engine is fantastic.

BFE runs pretty well (for me at least) even as it is now with multithreading and DX11 enabled.
But yeah the new version of the engine runs really smooth.

I run at 30FPS, even though I can run anything else at a solid 60+ on maximum settings, tell me your secrets

We dont know your specs or settings. Some settings in serious sam murder frame rate

Try disabling crumbs and ambiant occlusion. and enabling multuthreaded rendering.

ren_bMultiThreadedRendering=1
ren_iMaxThreads=3

That enables multithreaded rendering.

I can't remember the DX11 launch command.

the 2 console commands gave me a slight but ever so helpful frame boost, I feel like the launch command may be what I need.

fyi loading maps when using dx11 sometimes crashes. Less so without steam overlay

+gfx_strAPI Direct3D11

In BFE steam launch options should enable DX11

And if it causes problems +gfx_strAPI Direct3D9 will revert it back to DX9

The DX11 version has worked for me without any crashes, but of course all pc setups are different.

I did some testing on my pc in Silent Riddler map loading the same save game with fighting going on.
DX9 with no Multithreaded rendering lowest fps was 53
DX11 with Multithreaded rendering lowest fps was 73

Try different performance presets and see what kind of fps you get, like Boocheus said there are some individual settings that eat lot of fps, and make sure supersampling is off.

Turn off ambiant occlusion, crumbs and use "no dynamic lighting"
Also turn off smooth particles, lower particles density and lower lod.

Also try typing in mirror in console and hitting tab until you find mirror occlusion. enable. Do the same for effect occlusion. type effect and tab until you find effect occlusion.
