How to mod population cap for Elite mod 2.4.2?
I have been playing the Elite mod in 2.4.2 version however I want to somehow increase the population cap from 100. I have a popcap mod but that is for the base game, I'm asking if anyone has a popcap mod that will work with Elite mod 2.4.2 or knows how to increase the popcap a different way?

Not sure what you want the cap to be, but that increases it to 999. You can change it by following the directions in that thread.
Cant really get my head around editing the 999mod to 300, I'm a noob with using cope's toolbox

Extract these folders into your Elite folder instead of the Elite_popcap.rar from that thread and run the 'update1.bat' file within the Config folder. Should give you a 300 popcap and should be compatible with all future updates.

Make sure to add the ELITE.module file from that thread into your Retribution folder as well.
Thanks mate really appreciate you making that, a popcap of 999 sounds good in practice but DOW2 clearly wasn't made for it and frame rates like made. 300 gives more control over it i feel.

Thanks again
high popcap ... upkeep will eventually make your requisition income 0...

for example in coh2, each pop gives 1,5 MP/min bleed, with 300 as base value, at 100 pop you get 150mp/min, while at 200 pop youd be 0. A better system than those random numbers in previous titles like retri, where it is ... quite random. Assuch pop cost relates directly to upkeep. Retri strongest units have a universal 57 or so req upkeep while not all really perform comparably.
I adjusted the upkeep in the popcap mod as well, so it won't degrade as quickly. It's set to start at 150 pop, which could be enough to offset that somewhat. Not sure what a good value for that would be though. Normally, it gives a 70 pop buffer (starts at 30, caps at 100). I've always thought that the best way to play high popcap was to play on high resources anyway though.
Hello, I know that this thread is a couple years old at this point, but I'm coming here because this thread was very helpful to me in previous iterations of the Elite mod. I just recently updated to Elite version 2.9.4 and tried to use this information to increase the PopCap. However, whenever I run the bat1 file with the new Elite.module the game will instantly go to a BugSplat error screen rather than launch. What am I doing wrong, or what suggestions might anyone have? Thanks for your time.
