[SOLVED] Blackscreen on Launch - Not responding after 6-8sec

Been reading all Threads and possible solutions suggested here and at DoW2

- replace DLL Files
- reinstall DX9
- k-lite codec pack
- verify/reinstall

On my own:

- windowed mode
- compatibility/run as administrator
- delete intro and logo videos

...\documents\my games\dawn of war 2 - retribution\logfiles\warnings.txt not giving anything helpful
Application is only turning unresponsive, so killing it by Task Manager doesnt trigger a Windows Error Log aside of "Apphang"
SteamDB lists the Launch Parameter "-logs" which doesnt seem to do anything.

Last thing imaginable could be some sort of GPU Driver issue. - Edit: researched, negative -

DOW2.exe caused an Access Violation in module Shark.dll at 0023:221c48c4.

Sorry, forgot to mention - you need 8 cores or less. The less the better, but not less than recommemded system requirements, of course. Though, the game mainly uses just one core, so not much of a difference after all.

Really is getting under my skin. Spent like 12h on this in total now.
No solution found, instead, this Problem also extends to Space Marine. - Same Behaviour.

Could this be caused by something well beyond reach? As in, SEGAs end?

I'm no expert in customized shortcuts, but it appears that you need to use "/affinity 1FF" for 8 cores and "/affinity 1F" for 4.

Trying to apply affinity by batch file. Wasnt able to find a way to work it into Shortcut Launch Parameters.

After putting the DLL in the folder, it started.

EDIT to clearify:
DoW2:R not running on 16 cores
Deactivate 8 out of your 16 cores and the game will run. (Thanks to Batpimp for bringing the issue to our attention.)
