Tutorials for making custom models for Dawn of War 2 mods?

I'd like to make a Necron mod, but don't know whether I'm supposed to use Blender or XSI 7.5 to make custom models. I see other people make mods, and I want to get into it too as I think this game has a lot going for it, but leaves a lot to be desired.

Someone made this tutorial[dawnofwar.info] that shows how to package a mod. But I don't see any tutorials on how to make animations, what editors to make models with, etc..

Any modders here, or should I go ask on ModDB instead?
