why are steam servers down?

They are making servers maintenance, so don't worry the servers will be back.

they removed it awhile back when game spy was just shutting down. thats why theres a blank space on that open tab for private and public games

So this also shuts down the single player apparently, which is stupid.

The servers should of been backup by now if you check their website. But it was just a guesstimate so i suppose we can't hold them to that "4 hours" of downtime.

Servers must still be down. I can't even launch my campaign without it telling me I'm not connected to Steam and then booting me back to main menu.

So annoying, I literally just started the game up after not playing for ages and have the same problem :(

yup, i was wave 14 on a decent match then game died an hour and a bit ago and "steam servers" have been down since. hope this is just a bug not the end of dow2 mp

I understand the whole server maintenance thing, but hate that we can't even play single player or vs AI. Kinda puts buying DoW 3 into question for me. Would hate to arrange an evening playing with a RL friend only to have it wasted waiting for servers.
