Multiplayer still active?

Hello

the title says at..

The time frame in which i play games, i have found that there are around 700 players playing this game (steam charts). and for me thats quite a decent number, i used to play wargame red dragon and at the same time i would find like 600 players in that game.

so my question is simple, do people still play multiplayer with this game?

do they play with the base game or is it with mods?

Last time I played was 5 months ago I think. Took 10min sometimes but still found games

Last Stand is still active ... u have to wait just like 3 minutes, for PvP ... just custom

thats not bad at all imo.. and its with the bas game only? or mods etc?

also are the DLCs required to play?

You dont need DLCS and there are some people who play modded custom matches but theyre private lobbies usually and you cant get in them unless youre freinds and invite eachother

The DLCs are Esthetic (For PvP) or special weapons (For LastStand) :)

Ok I suggest that you look up the Elite mod for this game, thats where the more competetive players are at, its not dead, got updated a couple of months ago so yah. The mod is mostly about balancing the game, adds new units as well.

i am just new to this whole franchise..not sure if i would go into competitive mode straight away.. but will keep eye on the mod

Its not necessarily incredibly competetive, but also you get to gain experience with that mod since it changes stuff a fair bit. Anyway, do as you see fit ofc :P (also this might help you to learn what different factions have to offer: https://dawnofwar.info/ go to the 'study' section )

Yes you will find easily matches in the game, even with low experience players.
Also i would not recommand at all elite mod. It is a lot of eye candy and a terrible balance unlike what they claim

At last, i can wish you courage, because this game takes long to understand fully what to do, at the right time :) All wagears give so much possibility
You'll feel that some hero may look OP at first, but all are excellent and will always be your best unit. Do dare to ask advices to other players, they'll help you

I play at III, but also always at DOW II. 5/10 minutes max for multiplyer.
