I can't start the game
After I click on the play button, it will show me that the game is running, but then it will turn off and I have the play button there again.

Oh that is strange, sorry bout that! Can you check if it says anthing in the log file that is located in C:\Users\[Username]/AppData/Local/LostEmber/Saved/Logs/LostEmber.log?

Oh! That's interesting. So you just created the folder at the location I specified above? Did Steam download anything new before starting the game?

Yes yes i created what you wrote and the game went on.

Really weird issue. I'll look into automatically adding that somehow. Thank you very much for reporting back!

I have a 404 problem when clicking that link you (dev) suggested and i'm not sure how to make a new folder out of it. I don't know is this is a problem from the download or its just me but it used to run smoothly (I just played it yesterday and everything was the same). I've had the game for awhile so I don't know what is causing this.

you're not to click the link. You're to locate and navigate to it on your PC and if the folder for it don't exist, right click and make new folder and name it the same.

That said
C:\Users\[Username]/AppData/Local/LostEmber/Saved/Logs/LostEmber.log

I don't have the LostEmber folder even in my local app data folder. It looks like the games out right failing to even create its own start up folder and then just shutting down.

As stated I just bought the game, never ran it before, its a full fresh install and im lacking these things. Not sure if the folder ever gets made when the game starts up and due to it not starting it isn't being made.. or what not.

I feel like I'm being stupid but I'm still not getting it. I searched for it, didn't find it. Made a new folder and had to create a new text document. I wasn't sure what I was doing at all, I just put it in there.

First locate your C: drive, and find the users folder. click it then go into the folder of your pc's name. From there, in the top nav bar, type in /appdata as said folders hidden by default. Once in you'll see three folders, click on local. From there follow the rest of the folder paths.

Searching for it you wont find it more so if your not taking into account the folder that uses your pc's user name.

Could you try starting the LostEmber-Win64-Shipping.exe directly? It's located under LostEmber\Binaries\Win64 in your install directory. You can find the install directory by right clicking the game in Steam -> Manage -> Browse local files.

Also there's another small patch, maybe that fixed it for you?

Same problem here, just bought the game and I cannot start it. Don't even have the 'LostEmber-Win64-Shipping.exe'' file in the folder
Duckie Jun 29, 2020 @ 9:59am
Well I had to redownload some things because the binarie wasn't there but now when I click the LostEmber-Win64 thing directly, it says: LostEmber-Win64-Shipping.exe - Application Error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)
