The ducks do not fly high, they fly slowly, at low altitude, using gliding to move from place to place, and to land. You need to learn how to glide to a ledge and land, or the water's surface, for example. Short bursts of wing flapping act like a small hop/jump to go over small obstacles on the ground.
I'm watching Youtube videos where people seem to be able to fly without the constant dashing-pause-dashing so I'm guessing there's an issue with my game but I can't fix it
I thought it was a controller problem but the same thing happens with the keyboard. Hummingbird just dashes for a couple of meters (if that!) and just stops.
no worries there is an option to turn the tapping off. You can go to Options->Accessibilty and there you can select:
Hummingbird: Hold Button for dash
Then you just need to hold the button instead of tapping it constantly.
Cheers Pascal
