What happened to the original Alien Swarm?
I played it back in the day and just noticed this new game and that the old one is not in my library anymore. Did they just delete it?

Original alien swarm was kinda forgotten by valve and had only 1 camaign. As a result hardly anyone played it. AS is still there, but everyone plays ASRD now because it has significantly more content and a larger community.

The mod still resides on modDB, oh wrong one...
Does anyone even still play the 2010 Valve release?

For free games, if you uninstall it, I think it disappears from your library until you reinstall it.

I still had it in my library until a few minutes ago. I went to check it out and compare it with the new one. Reactive Drop is better in pretty much every way, but there are still are some people who play the original.

I was playing the original alienswarm only 4 months ago, though I had to reinstall unreal tournament and that was hard work.

Alien Swarm is a breeze to install through Unreal Tournament 2004, I still play it with bots although online play is limited to one German server sadly.

Store > Wish List > All Games tab

Shows every game you've downloaded unless it has been permanently removed or altered in some way beyond end user control. Hope this helps anyone looking for their lost-in-the-wash games -take care.
