Tesla Cannon Kill Achievment: How?

Title post.

To elaborate, the Tesla Cannon's features include about 20 shots(seconds?) a battery, 14 or so batteries in reserve, continuous fire, slowing effect, no friendly fire... and a whopping one point of damage.

The Assault rifle's bullet inflicts five times more damage per bullet than the Tesla per each damage tick.

This means that the Tesla's primary purpose is to slow rather than kill enemies.

Knowing this, I'm wondering how to get the Tesla Cannon kill achievement (the one for killing 1000 swarm with a cannon). The Tesla Cannon is, as I just said, meant to slow and stun enemies rather than kill them, so how am I supposed to get the achievement in anything resembling a timely manner?

I'm pretty sure it's 250, and it requires a lot of work. Just run through on Normal or Hard and shoot them till they're dead.

That's kind of a legacy achievment, because when Alien Swarm 2010 came out, the tesla cannon was extremely OP and killed drones effortlessly. Then they realized it and nerfed it a lot on a patch. Now you have to endure the low damage and multiple runs for the achievment.

Note: Tesla Cannon gets a (displayed) +1 damage per tick on any marine with Damage Bonus. Personally, when I'm grinding Tesla Cannon kills, I like to use Crash due to his 4/5 Reload Speed Bonus greatly reducing reload time.

Make an online game and set it to friends only.
Play on easy with onslaught on.
Make both medics have 2x healing beacons.
Have all other characters have the Tesla gun and extra ammo.
Takes 10-15 mins and maybe 1-2 tries but isn't 'hard' just very, very tedious.

A legit way to do this without to much of a grind is to do Jacob´s rest last mission with bots. There is plenty of parasites you can kill with the tesla. About 40-50 per run. The place where you do last hack there is about 20 eggs so you can tell your bots to hold and kill all the parasites when they hatch. You can also get 1 speed computer hack for that achievement as well while doing this.

Single Cargo mission on easy, Wildcat, tesla + ammo, 3-4 times ( until acid pool, then restart)...achievement done.

Just keep firing with tesla to aliens running around, they will die.
