Character customization?

I'm super new to the whole Alien Swarm deal and was wondering if there was any form of character customization outside of weapons?

You download something like a doom skin pack and it replaces all of the marines skins with doom skins (only you can see them though, to other people they look completely normal)

If you are talking about customization of characters, there is none in game. You can choose any non-restricted weapons as you have noted, but the characters are usually preset. Of course, you can subscribe to addons om the workshop to change their "looks" and, to some extends, voices.

Yeah, I know how the workshop works, I'm not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ inbred. I was wondering if there was a way to change the look of your character so that everyone could see the changes. But it's a no.

afaik all cosmetic stuff are only client side
