Here's How You Play Online Without Disconnecting!
I've played full games of Monopoly with other players over 50 times so far this year, and have been able to finish all of them on this version thanks to the Steam Remote Play Together feature.

Steam Remote Play Together lets other players control your game (but not anything else on your computer, so it's SAFE) - and since you're playing a local game, it won't disconnect.

Step 1: Make sure your friends are Steam friends.
Step 2: They DO NOT need the game if you are hosting.
Step 3: Start up your Monopoly
Step 4: Press SHIFT+TAB and go to your Friends list
Step 5: Right click on your friends and choose "Remote Play Together"
Step 6: They should accept the invite and you should hear a ding.
Step 7: Once everyone is in, press SHIFT+TAB again to go back into the game.
Step 8: They should all see the game - and all have control - it's like you're all sharing the same PC!
Step 9: Start a Local game of Monopoly, NOT ONLINE. Let everyone pick their tokens.
Step 10: Make sure players only use controls during their turns!
Step 11: Find new friends, because you will lose them playing Monopoly.

Note: A player might disconnect from Remote Play, but its EZ, just SHIFT+TAB and invite them back in. There's also no time limits in local monopoly, so it wont skip turns if no one presses anything.

If you want to see how we do it, you can swing by my twitch channel, we play every night: http://twitch.tv/swiftor

Feel free to ask any questions here!

First, thanks for that Swiftor. I am guessing it may help many be able to muddle through a play through. But for those who may be as old as I am, Port Forwarding and now Remote Play are now the "porta-poties" of online gameplay. Nobody wants to use it unless they really, REALLY have to, and they don't really like using it the entire time they are.

It's 2020, and I can't believe gamers have to go through "stuff" like this to get some games to work. And Monopoly yet? That should be super easy to get normal online play going in these times.

We had simular problems getting Monopoly to work online when I first played it, but that was in the EIGHTIES when I was a teenager. :steamfacepalm:

If you have it for PS4/5 can you still use Steam play?

Hey there CheeseBallGaming,

Owning the game via PlayStation doesn't grant you access to any Steam features - you must own the game via Steam to make use of these.
