Monopoly plus wont start

Several friends and I were looking to play a game of Monopoly yesterday and No matter what any of us do the app fails to start. If launched in steam (with ubisoft connect running) it just closes within a second with no application window appearing.


If I try to launch it directly from the install folder I get a popup "Application popup: Monopoly.exe - System Error : The code execution cannot proceed because msvcp110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. "


Since this seems to be affecting at least 6 of us I assume this must be a known issue? Any ideas on how to resolve this.

(Win11, latest updates, tried uninstalling and reinstalling)

As a follow up to myself, I installed the game on an older Windows 10 machine I had and it works just fine. Is this Windows 11 specific ?

Having same issue Windows 11. Would be nice if they would make it compatible with Windows 11,

The weird thing is that I was using it on this same machine so I am not certain what changed? Was it a windows update? Was it a Monopoly plus update?


And now they have delisted it from steam altogether!!

I have it running on Windows 11 23H2 and no issues whatsoever, doesn't seem like a Windows 11 issue to me.

The error you got could be related to one of the Visual C++ redistributables not being correctly installed but being required / needed.

Under "Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022" download the X86 and X64 versions and install them, then restart the PC and try again if the game works or not.
